This app is the client to connect to your plex media server locally or remotely.

Is this just a netflix clone? I DL it, but disnt do anything with it or sign up for a sub. Sell me on it.

Not a netflix clone, it organizes your library of media for you to play on your devices. You steup the server on your main PC pointing to the folders containing the media and your Roku for example streams it through Plex.
You can also install a "bookmarklet" in your browser, go to sites that stream video and queue the videos to be played on your devices that may not be able to directly access those sites.

I got a Roku and hated Plex. I returned the Roku for an Ouya with XBMC, much better for me.

it only makes sense if you have lots of downloaded movies & junk you would like to elegantly serve to your internal network.
takes what other shitty products like WME do and make it beautiful.
if you are content with netflix streaming and dont have a large library on your local network, you probably won't care.
but still..you might one day..jsut grab it anyway. you'll own it forever then.
