With the current condition of the Panthers offense and defense, there is no benefit to Cam Newton tying himself to a team with so many gaping holes to fill. Would be career suicide if he cares about winning as much as I believe he does

I'm not a Cowboys fan at all but I feel like this would be where he could maximize his potential as a player. Dallas has a solid O-line and enough weapons that Cam could overcome those late game collapses that are Tony Romo's trademark. Also, Romo's one hit away from retirement. If he's out by the end of 2015 at the same time Cam hits FA, I say this is a no-brainer for Jerry

Cam would give Jerrah all the media attention he craves with the wins to go along with it. I also think Cowboys fan would be estactic and supportive of Cam in a way Carolina fans never have. It's a perfect match IMO

Romo over the next 3 years is far better value than Cam regardless of contract

holy shite, can you imagine cam and jerrah at a press conference together

I do think cam needs to go to a better team...the panthers were so stupid, they let everyone go

cam also needs to work on accuracy. It's his 4th year and he's still throwing it 10 ft over his receivers head

but I agree, it would make the cowboys scary

Cam just isn't that good with all the speed on the field in the pros.

Great in college, and good for a couple of instinctive runs a game, but his arm and head just aren't at the level to thrive in the NFL.

The Panthers did him no favors, though.

He had one of the best rookie seasons of any QB ever and lead his team to the second best record in the NFC last year. Look at everyone they have lost on offense. He's not my favorite player or anything, but saying he's not an NFL level quarterback is just dumb.

give him some receivers and blocking and I think he's better than you give him credit for...but he'll always be an average passer at best until he stops throwing the high fastball

When he first burst onto the scene, he was a unique talent, no doubt. Then, he was figured out. Contain, contain, contain. He can't throw and makes medicore decisions. If he is down, he ain't getting back up. Not strong mentally.

I think his mechanics are regressing because he's scared of getting hit. He started the season with broken ribs while recovering from ankle injury. He got hit so hard last night he was spitting up blood. Even when he has time to throw he's skittish and jumpy

If Cam remains in Carolina his body will give out much too soon (he's 25) and his quality of play will continue to decline

Oh come on. He isn't an elite level QB but saying he cant thrive at the NFL level is idiotic. They went 12-4 last year. This year the OL is hurt and playing like garbage. He has no running game. The leading WR is a rookie amongst no other studs. He won't ever be a top 5 quarterback but give him some weapons and an OL and he'll be above average in this league

Cam Newton sucks. All of his passes were airmailed last night.

They may as well call Tebow if they want a running QB who can't throw.

..and he would be cheaper.

He looks considerably more lethargic in the pocket than he did in years past. Looks like a guy tired of his team.

Steve Smith should be happy that he was let go.

At least he has a chance to catch passes in Baltimore.

Haha Cam has around 600 more RUSHING yards and nearly double the amount of RUSHING touchdowns in his career than the biggest Heisman joke of all time.
