hate to talk bad about the dead but she was a frickin bitch to me all through out my childhood and adult life. shite, she was just mean to everybody but this is y good friends wife. He's 82 and i'm basically the only friend he's got.Al of his family is from Ohio.
Anyway. I'm almost positive the funeral is going to be this weekend.
I have my trip to big lake already planned and there will be two people there at the camp that are depending on me to be there because i'm bringing all of my fishing gear for them to use(they don't ever go fishing).

They will probably understand you have a funeral to attend and need to reschedule.

Tell them you are sorry, but you have to postpone the trip. Explain why. If they have a problem then you need new friends...

What time is the funeral and is there a chance of driving up solely for the funeral and then heading back to the lake?

btw, I stayed at my gfs camp in big lake this past weekend. Was there a chance you had some guys down from Florida and Alabama and South Carolina this past weekend taking them fishing?

Shitty weather this weekend anyway. Go help your bud burry his mom. Karma is a bitch and I think you would sink your boat if you decided to go fishing instead.

Has nothing to do with mean wife at this point its all for your buddy. Hell id be pissed if my buddies didn't show up to my wifes funeral (unless they were still disposing of the body for me)

I got to be honest...

I'm leaning go fishing.

Is your attendance at the funeral going to make that big of a difference?

here's the whole issue.
My buddy has his inlaws coming in from out of town for the weekend. He asked if i would come with him to help out with handling boat duties and if i would bring all of my gear so that they could fish with it.
My buddy has his own gear just not enough spin casts for them all to use. They al lleft last night and are in Hackberry already and are counting on me to come through with what i told him i'd do yesterday.
I just learned that she had passed away today. It was his wife and he's basically alone now at the age of 82
