I agree with the idea that it's hard to compare. It is funny that, as Scott mentioned on Dandy Don this morning, it feels like Fournette has still not lived up to whatever ridiculous expectations Tiger fans had before the season yet he will shatter the all-time single season freshman APY record, and possibly, will also break Justin Vincent's single season freshman rushing record. He has also become a force in the receiving game.

I think that has more to do with hype than actual production. Fournette is having a great season, by any standard. But he was the #1 ranked player in the country coming in. Hilliard wasn't even the highest ranked RB in his class. He took everyone by surprise.

While I think eventually Fournette will jettison the return duties, he'll still likely come close to breaking Faulk's career rushing stats in three seasons thanks n part to the added games he'll play.

This is a good point, I'm not sure Fournette is the best returner anyway. Magee has been more explosive on kick returns and one cut power backs like Fournette are rarely great return men. Interesting to see if he stays on returns all year

Fournette, if he remains healthy, will end up with 1800+ all purpose yards, at least.

Fournette is going to destroy the record. The lack of return yards in Hilliard's stats are offset by Buga sharing carries with three other RBs and a very limited passing game. If Buga played in last year's offense without Jeremy Hill, he'd be in the Heisman conversation.

Who cares? It's such bullshite, anyway. Kickoff returns either should not count, or should be based on a baseline of the 25 yard line.

If I put my 80 year old 300 pound mother-in-law back there she'd average getting the ball to the 25 yard line. So if Fournette runs it from the goal line, and gets tackled on the 22, he should get negative 3 yards. Instead he gets 22 - bullshite!

Fournette is at 1,223 through nine games.

1209 per LSU's website. All the same, Leonard breaks Hilliard's record this week and he'll have done it in one fewer game than the little great one. BTW, Hilliard's '82 Orange Bowl numbers are Not part of his season's total.

My wife's in her 50's and looks nice. About 135 lbs and 5'-5". Her sister too. Neither one took after their mom.
