A team with a losing record that is basically out of consideration for the playoffs owns Josh Gordon and decides to trade him to a team in 1st or 2nd place would you considering this fair?

I personally would be pissed about the move and veto it. Once you're out the race that team shouldn't be making trades.

I'm sure this will be happening in multiple leagues soon so I wanted to hear your thoughts

Is he basically out or is he 100% mathematically eliminated. If he still has a shot then I don't see the issue. Dude is trying to get players to win now and make a run.

What's the guy record? 6 or less losses, fair. 7 or more, probably not.

Depends on the trade. Maybe they are playing to not finish last.

Just depends on what the deal was. Just because you think he shouldnt make deals doesnt mean the owner thinks that way and he isnt getting a return for Gordon right now, which is when he needs to win. Im pretty confident in saying that before this week, unless a team has 1 or 0 wins, they still have a SMALL shot.

Lots of different variables come into play. Is this a keeper league? Is there a fine for last place? Are there weekly/season pots he could still win? Was the trade fair? Is this obvious collusion? Impossible to answer w/o knowing the specifics.

It's a hypothetical question

At this point if you're in last you have to run the table to make the playoffs, no keepers, no last place punishments or weekly pot money.

It would depend on the trade. If the guy who owns Gordon knows he has to win this week or next and/or has bye week lineup issues, then the trade is probably reasonable. Even if it's for a mid-level player.

And to do that, you have no need to keep Gordon so get something for him.

stacked or just had some luck?

At this point I don't even care what my record is, as long as I make the playoffs. Josh will carry me the rest of the way

Apparently if you're out of the playoffs, it's cool to just quit. No need setting lineup either.
