American Aquarium remembers when Florida Georgia Line opened for them (savingcountrymusic.com)
quote:

“Three years ago, to the day, Florida Georgia Line opened up for us in Jacksonville, FL with their same brand of bro country that is all over the radio today,” the band posted on their Facebook page.

“They now have millions of fans, tons of money and all the cut off bedazzled denim vests anyone could ask for. At least we still have our self respect. Here’s to the working bands out there that never settle. Good on ya.”
quote:

I’m also…

-Sad that this is what “country” music has been reduced to. One of the greatest American art forms has been reduced to garbage. No attention to detail. No honesty. No soul.

-Angry that when I tell people that I play country music and this is the first thing that comes to their mind. Angry that America has accepted this. Angry that these “songwriters” do it for the dollar, instead of the integrity.

-Afraid that its only going to get worse. If fans of country music keep letting the powers that be lower your standards, IT WILL become more and more laughable. As long as they know that you will buy it, they will keep dumbing you down. Scares the shite out of me.

exactly.

FGL is what it is. It's catchy, feel good music that caters to a crowd that probably doesn't take music as seriously as most musicians. I like them for what they are but I am not confusing them with Eddie Vedder or someone anytime soon.

If AA put out something feel good and catchy I'd like them too if they would just get over themselves and realize most people don't take music as seriously as them. They're just jealous FGL made it big time and they didn't. There's a reason they're a top group right now is because they're catering to the masses, people that don't wanna contemplate lyrics and its hidden meaning when listening to music which is the majority of listeners.

FGL gets it, AA does not. The general public would eat them up too if they came out with better shite. Real talk.

A) American Aquarium isn't very good, and I'm their target audience

B) As much as FGL sucks, their fans suck worse. I don't mean a girl that sings along in the car, I mean people who put up their lyrics on Facebook like they're quoting Cicero. People should do what they enjoy and I'm fine with that, but it's obvious that you're a substance-less idiot if you think FGL's songs are insightful and talented.
