quote:

Bennett accused 25-year-old Windsor man Dustin Toth of luring her to a Safeway parking lot Nov. 24 before taking her back to his home, holding her there overnight and sexually assaulting her.

quote:

She told police that Toth had convinced her to meet up and talk “as a friend” about his impending National Guard deployment, according to an arrest affidavit from the Windsor Police Department.

quote:

As a result of Bennett’s report, Toth was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and sexual assault and was jailed.

quote:

As a result of the false report, Toth said he lost his job at OtterBox and was barred from deploying with his Army National Guard team to Cuba. He has since struggled to find work, been denied on multiple apartment applications and has become prone to anxiety attacks, he told the judge Friday.

The 32 days came after Toth made an emotional plea to the judge.

quote:

Bennett was on medication at the time she made the whole thing up and attempted to partially blame the medication for her lies

Disgusting. I have friends that were raped, and the idea that you would make it up is utterly disgusting.

Penalty should be a lot worse if they're found to have lied about rape.

Double edged sword in my opinion. I agree that there should be stiff penalties for maliciously lying about rape and kidnapping, but I also get that it would scare off real victims even more.

Women use the word "rape" as some sort of weapon. They know it will ruin men's lives and men will be guilty until proven innocent.

I agree... It should mirror the charge that you are falsely reporting. In this case, the same as if she's convicted of rape herself.

It doesn't matter if he actually raped her. His non-rape can be equally devastating, possibly worse. The fact that this woman is going to jail is a travesty, it will only cause more non-rapes to go unreported.

Make an example out of her and give her the punishment that the alleged rapist would have gotten. Making that shite up is not okay.

Falsifying a rape charge should put someone on the sexual predator list IMO.

That's serious, it's perverted, and it is incredibly destructive. That woman cannot be trusted at the workplace or around men.

Her bullshite accusations are trivializing real rape and domestic violence...whose victims are already terrified of coming forward. She clearly shows no sympathy for victims and has very little trouble destroying a man's life.
