I have an Aggie friend who is up in the 12th Man Foundation who told me that there will be wholesale changes when the season is over, with as many as 4 assistant coaches gone. The team is a bunch of prima donnas who clearly quit against Bama. Didn't even try.

Meanwhile, Florida is even more of a grease fire. Muschamp is a dead man walking. Of course, I expect they will pull off a good hire (and are probably lining it up right now).

Texas is experiencing growing pains with Charlie Strong. I actually think if they give him four years, Strong will give them a football team to be proud of. But for now, that school just has a funk about them.

We have in recent memory recruited very well in Texas and Florida. Perhaps Florida State's rise offsets Florida's downturn. But it seems to me that if we could turn a few out of staters, the supposed down year of 2015 could be a solid class.

I admittedly don't follow recruiting much, so I look to you guys who do. Are there any waffling Texas/Aggie/Gator recruits that LSU can get in on this recruiting season? Recruits have to like the fact that we are willing to play freshman, we pump out NFL players better than anyone else and, for kids from Texas and Florida, we're not too far from home.

Martez Ivey, CeCe Jefferson, and Bryan Cowart have started looking around (Florida is no longer a favorite), but so far, they have leaders in Auburn, Ole Miss, and Bama.

Adonis Thomas left them if I'm not mistaken. The little shifty guy from Louisiana, Dillon I believe, is looking around as well.

All these are still longshots IMO.

Isn't Sumlin the head prima donna? With all his "YESSIRs" and "What?, What? (while jumping around)" after their win over USCe.

If the Aggies bail on 4 assistants their recruiting class will crumble.

Sumlin promised them the world and recruited them with helicopters and fancy trappings. What you win them with is what you win them to.

They expect instant stardom. That was all there with Johnny Football, though. Not saying that it is ALL Sumlin's fault, but it could be that going 11-2 in their first year in the SEC was the worst thing that could have happened to them. They didn't know that they had to work for it.

Ole Miss quit against LSU in Nutt's final season. Then look what happen to their recruiting class with Freeze. Doesnt mean it's always a free fall

One aspect of TAMU I think gets overlooked is Sumlin's overall "style." It is very appealing to HS students, same is true for Kliff. However, if you look at the massive HS coaching fraternity in Texas, 90% of them are more akin to the Charlie Strong/Art Briles/Gary Patterson mold.

As silly as this sounds, I know a many coaches who despise the TAMU football product because of the swagger they portray. The money signals, the constant uniform hype, even Kenny Hill's gigantic earrings on gameday, etc really grate the Texas HS coaching establishment.

I am not advocating for either side, just should be interesting to see what develops (which side gives in first).

Those are interesting angles MTB, From our point of view, those faggies are wannabe pre Madonnas. Heck, if that story about Speedy and no urine tests is true then Sumlin has it coming.

I couldn't agree more about having to earn it. The aggie fans actually started talking down at us early in the season like they actually did earn something! Thank goodness that the Chief knows how to handle punks or their egos would have been ridiculous.

Still though, A+M was a huge addition to the West and they can still be a huge thorn in LSU's side in recruiting at a time when the Tigers can't afford any missteps. I have never been too worried about losing to them on the field but Texas is a very important state for recruiting and we need it to fill in La's weak spots if we are going to keep up with the Jones'.

As for Florida, I still haven't gotten my fill of their misery. After the Spurrier years I wouldn't mind seeing them dwell at the bottom of the SEC East for another decade. Beating them in the Swamp is always a season highlight no matter what their final win/loss record looks like.

I will give them this though, they looked pretty relieved to finally beat Geo.

My wife works at a school over here in TX. Naturally there are lots of Ags. After the win against USCe, one came in and starting pointing at my wife and other ones from SEC shools, saying "we gonna beat you, and you, and you!" "We gonna beat everybody!" the wife said to calm down, it the SEC, and it's one game.

Martez Ivey is very much still in the air. I believe he will be coming on an official visit the weekend of the Bama game. He hasn't even told folks close to him what he is leaning towards. Lots of Florida fans just assuming that because he is "close" that's where he is going. Could be a dark horse depending on how the Bama game goes.

Really surprised Sumlin has stuck with Kenny Hill during the slide.

I live in Texas and my take is the Aggies Nation is too eager to think that SEC football will adapt to A&M rather than vice versa. Coach Sumlin seems like a class act to me but he seems to me to be more of a run and shoot coach. Their lines are still to small for SEC football which makes them susceptible to the run. My Aggies friends want to talk up their recruiting and certain players but in my mind their team philosophy is still more southwest conference than SEC. Their implosion is strange but seemed to have to do with some internal team issues.

OVERALL, A&M is a great school. Tremendous commitment to giving back and to training officers for the U.S. Army. Not tuned into SEC football yet but will get better with time.
