The 2014-15 LA Lakers Road to History Thread | Rec: 0-5 | Next: v. CHA 11/9

To date, the worst NBA record in a 82-game season is the 9-73 mark set in 1973 by the Sixers.
It'll be a challenge, but I think the Lakers are up to it.
Schedule
THE CHASE FOR HISTORY
2014-15 LA Lakers: 0-5
(Through 5 games)
1972-73 Phila 76ers: 0-5
(Through 5 games)

That's because Dirk Jr is rotting on the bench.
Nevermind, he's got an injured hammy.

Props to Mitch Kupchak for putting together a team whose second best player is Carlos Boozer and third best player is Jeremy Lin(I guess) and still managing to be over the salary cap. There really aren't many people in the world that could accomplish that.

The over/under was something like 24.5. Vegas giving away free money.

I think the second best player might be Julius Randle because at least he can't frick up anymore.

b; Lakers win a game
c; Kobe assaults a teammate / coach.

Well at least Kobe looks like he can still get any shot he wants for the most part. He could legitimately play for years and give a team 20ppg if they don't require any defense. He'll get better and better as the year progresses, which cannot be said for the rest of the slapdicks sportin the purple and gold. I'll still watch every game I can just to see Kobe shoot the ball.
Nick Young is probably the second best player as an okay volume scorer. Boozer is average (4pts, 8 turnovers), Hill is serviceable but can't be depended on for anything beyond hustle/effort plays, and Wes Johnson is okay. When I say he's okay, I mean that he's okay when compared to the rest of the players on the roster, not your average NBA team. Ed Davis is a guy with a ton of potential, but he'll likely never figure it out. Lin is just completely awful in so many ways. He looks absolutely terrified to handle the ball and create. Henry, Price and the other nobodies should drop to their knees periodically each day and thank God that they're on an NBA roster.
That about covers it. Sacre's folks were Tigers, so I guess that makes him okay in a pathetic moral victory kind of way.
This team is so much worse than the 05 squad led by studs such as Smush Parker, Brian Cook and Slava Medvedenko. At least I got to see young Bynum and prime Kobe

One of the security guards at work has been trying to get me to take his Lakers will make the playoffs bet for $50 but the last time I won money from him it took 2 separate paychecks for him to come up with $50 so I didn't want to do it again. 8 other people took it though.
