This is a pretty straightforward scenario: Imagine if every SEC West contender holds serve at home and loses on the road from here on out, except for LSU.

Results would be:

Ole Miss 6-2 (4-2 in SECW) [Losses:Ark,LSU]
LSU 6-2 (4-2) [MSU,Aub]
MSU 6-2 (4-2) [Bama,Ole Miss]
Bama 6-2 (4-2) [LSU,Ole Miss]
Aub 5-3 (3-3) -- I'll give Aub win @ UGA
A&M 3-5 (1-5)
Ark 1-7 (1-5)

Head-to-Head in the 4-way tie:

Ole Miss, LSU would be 2-1 against the others.
Bama, MSU would be 1-2 (eliminated)

Goes to 2-way tie:

LSU > Ole Miss

LSU SEC West Champs, baby!

Maybe there have been countless luminaries like yourself who have pointed out the "hold serve at home" approach to how things finish, but I guess I wasn't lucky enough to behold it in all its glory. So, I'm swooping in to take credit.

Much appreciated. I have been wondering who to cheer for going forward since you need a statistics degree to understand the log jam that is the SEC West. Ignore the dick hole haters that don't contribute.

there is one constant in every scenario for LSU: Auburn has to lose 3 games. They need to start this weekend.

Or we could have Auburn beating Ole Miss this weekend, so we don't have to hope Arkansas beats them.

While this is true, the scenario I have in mind has Auburn beating Ole Miss. This means we don't have to rely on Arky for anything, but in exchange, Auburn has to lose to UGA. A trade I'm willing to make. The resulting standings are exactly like the OP, and the tiebreakers work the same way.

true. Your scenario is more likely than mine because Auburn probably *is* going to run for 500 yards on Ole Miss. And Arkie can't seem to get out of their own way. And Auburn has to travel to UGA (although they historically do pretty well there).

We'll see.

There was a sticky about this earlier, but then it got whacked. No idea why.
