I agree with him that the disparity between Ole Miss at #4 and LSU at #19 is much too large (given that we just beat them and our only losses are to top 3 teams

Man our fanbase is SO bind... OK I will say it. Ole Miss isn't that good....

LSU got BLASTED in the two games they lost... You CAN'T erase that.... They are where they should be........

Rarely ever does a great team not win the title.

that's ridiculous.

when the patriots had an undefeated season (2007) and then lost the superbowl, that doesn't lessen the accomplishment of the prior 18 wins just because the lost the 19th game. that sucked for them, but that doesn't mean they weren't a great team.

im sick of hearing ...well ole miss could have tied the game if the had a better play call.. thats a tough enviroment in tiger stadium...so giving them a bye for barely losing...well if its ok to barely lose to us then we shud be friking ranked higher! and not to mention we dominated them. no one says that--ever. anlalysts dont watch the game.. they watch sportscenter---its a joke

based on what? does your analysis hinge on their 7 prior wins or their 1 loss?

I mean, you pointed out that Arizona would surely get dominated at Auburn if they had to play there this year.

I most certainly did not say that. That illustrates the problem quite nicely though. I said you can't give them credit for not getting shitkicked by Auburn when they don't play them. I didn't say anything about their hypothetical game, just said you can't give them credit for not losing like say LSU if they don't play. I'm not sure why, Arizona for instance, enjoys a presumption that they wouldn't get shite kicked by Auburn. That's as clear as I can conceivably make it.

Also to refute your point, LSU beat Ole Miss, but it would be mistaken to conclude based on that one game that Auburn wouldn't house them (let's say hypothetically the only results you knew were what Ole Miss did and that LSU beat Ole Miss). That's why it is problematic.

One game doesn't erase two bad losses. We have an opportunity to improve, but we have to actually do it first.

We have improved, and you are blind if you haven't noticed it.

You as an LSU fan should realize the changes made, seen the difference that experience has made.

How many 4-8s, 5-7s, 6-6s, have turned to 8-4, 9-3, 10-2 in a matter of three weeks?

But what's your complaint? You've lost twice. You're not in the national title picture. You won't be unless by some act of God you win the SEC.

Read my post. If they said that they would look more at what caused people to lose in games earlier, that were strengthened later, that would play into effect. Do you really see use losing to Utah, Arizona St, Oklahoma, etc on a neutral field as we are now? I'm not talking about championship anything because what I am looking at is the fact that several teams are a joke to be ahead of us. At the end of the day, it means nothing, but I'd still like them to rank them as if they make sense.

Listen, I know you are a Bama fan, but your championship dreams will also end next Saturday. That will probably only move us up two spots, but should knock you behind us.

What you people are missing is , college football has been politicized.

Condoleezza Rice is on the committee, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

Are you kidding me? Someone please tell me this isn't real.

Condoleezza Rice??????????????? WTF
And we're supposed to take this college football playoff system seriously?????????

I agree. Auburn took LSU to the woodshed. Making it close late vs. Miss St. doesn't really bolster any argument for being ranked higher. Miss St also manhandled LSU for most of the game.

Tell me the difference to this team from that game to now. If you can't name all the glaring differences that anybody on this board should know, then you pay attention to LSU football, only as a casual fan. If you are just a casual fan of LSU, then I think this isn't the conversation for you.

We have improved a WHOLE lot... LSU would be A very dangerous team if they had consistent QB play... But it is what it is and LSU is ranked where they should be... 1loss>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2losses.

I was predicting high teens, so somewhere between 13-15. Was definitely surprised by 19. Not that it matters at this point. If we win out we'll be in good shape for a decent bowl game.

Two quick points:

1). Pete Fiutak is not part of "our fanbase." He's one of the most knowledgeable college football analysts around. You can certainly disagree with him, but he's not some sort of LSU homer.

2). If Ole Miss "isn't that good," then you're actually agreeing with me that the disparity between them and LSU in the rankings is too large. If, on the other hand, they really are good, then LSU is coming off a big-time win and ought to be ranked at least a bit higher. Which is it?
