Brees is recorded as having a "fumble" in the Vikings game when Goodwin went down with injury.

The snap went by Brees and he recovered it.

How is that a turnover by Brees?

It is still dumb. The QB gets faulted with any fumble on exchange, snaps, etc.

They also include fumbles that happened on plays where a penalty occurred. See TB in 2013, SF in 2013.

Just dumb

I guess make a formal complaint to the NFL on how they handle snaps?

Some fumbles on exchange can be faulted on the qb, but then they would have to go through each fumble at the snap and see who is at fault, could the qb have gotten that and all that.

Would probably not be worth all the trouble. Could get very subjective with a lot of players getting pissed.
