Matt Ryan has 2nd best Fumble/INT rate in history (edit to please 2 people)
Posted by Indfanfromcol on 10/29/14 at 12:34 pm12
Title change so THO3 and Tigerbait will stop crying.
Matt Ryan is 2nd, right behind Rodgers.
Also on the list, Cam Newton at #4, Breesus at #15

I have to say, wasn't expecting Luck to be that high. His volume makes it seem like he turns it over a whole lot when in fact he's pretty good.

I'm calling BS that Brees has lost 79 fumbles in his career
Where is this from?

I was a little more surprised about Cam Newton to be honest.

Pulled from r/nfl
ETA: Also, according to NFL.com, Brees does indeed have 79 fumbles, with 2009 being his highest with 10.

You're missing what I am saying. I am arguing that a fumble does not equal a turnover
A fumble lost = a turnover.
The Saints had 13 fumbles lost in 2009.
-4 were lost by RBs
-3 were lost by receivers.
So it is wrong.

teams didn't need to create turnovers from falcons cause they knew mike smith would frick something up for them.

The guy who made the spreadsheet is an idiot:
So then don't label it turnover %

@PP_Rich_Hill All. Recovery is random. Seen some especially bizarre ones this year where I don't know how the team didn't recover.

the number are for fumbles it appears, not fumbles lost. not sure why, but it is consistent.

I've seen some where the ball never touches the ground, the defender just grabs it from the runner.
I don't think that guy understands anecdotal evidence

Maybe it is talking about an individuals turnover, but not a team turnover?
Guess you could change it to each qbs giveaway rate or just fumble and int rate, but sorta splitting hairs at that point.

Then you have to figure out how many were recovered immediately by the QB. That's not a random recovery

How is it a turnover if it never changes your team's possession?
By your definition, a completion is a turnover.
By his standards, a low snap or a snap over the QB's head goes against his TO% when the play isn't even dead

I wouldn't think so. Still turned the ball over, regardless if recovered. Just he gave it away, then recovered. I would put those as 2 different stats.
But I can see your point too.
Still IMO splitting hairs.

If he recovered it, he didn't turn it over.

How is an individuals turnover different from a teams turnover?
I mean, I don't think that is a hard concept.
A individual turns the ball over is when someone who as an individual, has a turnover. His teammate can still recover. But that individual lost the ball.
Team turnover is when the ball goes to the other team.
Would yall get your panties out of a bunch if I changed the title to Fumble/INT rate?
