For those that choose to be optimists instead of miserable douches... We do not control our own destiny but winning the SEC is possible and no way the winner of the SEC does not earn a spot in the CFP. So you cannot say LSU does not have a shot

LSU wins the SEC-W outright and earns a spot in SECCG aganst a top 4 Georgia team if:

1. LSU -- wins out.
2. MSST -- Loses to Bama and Ole Miss
3. Ole Miss -- Loses to Auburn, beats MSST.
4. Bama -- Beats MSST and Auburn
5. Auburn -- Beats Ole Miss, Loses to Georgia and Alabama

Not one of those results is anywhere near far fetched.

FYI - That's off topic. I'm no fair weather fan. If we lose another game this season Ill enjoy whats left then start sunshine pumpin' for next year!

Just letting everyone know who to root for in what games while the opportunity lasts... Weirder shite happened in 07 I easily recall.

2. MSST -- Loses to Bama and Ole Miss

State has to lose 3 games. Here's the best scenario:

LSU must win out

Mississippi State has to lose 3. If Arky pulls the upset this weekend, then I'll start getting excited. They then play @ Bama and @ Ole Miss.

Auburn needs to beat Ole Miss this weekend, then lose @ Georgia and @ Bama.

Standings would then be:
LSU 6-2 (holds tie breaker over Ole Miss & Bama)
Ole Miss 6-2
Alabama 6-2
Mississippi State 5-3
Auburn 5-3
A&M (Who Cares)
Arkansas (Who Cares)

In your scenario, wouldn't that leave 5 teams all with 2 SEC losses?

You can cut out 4 and parts of 3 and 5 and its the same thing but simpler. For instance:

1. LSU -- wins out.
2. MSST -- Loses to Bama and Ole Miss
3. Ole Miss -- Loses to Auburn
4. Auburn -- Loses to Georgia and Alabama

Same thing.

They own the Head to Head that is true. But in a 4-way tie breaker between LSU, OleMiss, MSST and Bama... LSU wins that tie breaker outright. What is in OP is correct. those teams would all finish 6-2.

Mississippi State has to lose 3 games. If they only have 2 losses, they then hold the tie breaker over LSU

How do we hold the Tie Breaker? B/c we beat Ole Miss & Bama, and State would have lost to both of those teams?

I'm seriously asking here

No they don't. It's really not that complicated.

LSU needs to end up in a tie that includes more teams that lost to LSU than teams that beat LSU. The end.

No, Auburn would have 3 losses. They already have one and would lose to Georgia and Bama and finish at 5-3.

You're right, man. I was only thinking of a head-to-head tie breaker. State needs to lose @Bama and @Ole Miss

Yeah I'm seeing that now. I was only looking at head-to-head tie breaker b/w LSU & State.

Thanks

But this is the 4th thread today that has the same scenarios in it...I think we have all the info...

I am just concerned about beating da gumps!!! And the next thing will be the feral pigs...and then my list gets even shorter with the "trill is gone" bunch up next...

We win those three, I will be happy, happy, happy!!!

No they do not. Based on OP's scenario, it would be a 4 way tie between LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, And State. The head to head records would be
LSU: 2-1
Ole Miss: 2-1
State: 1-2
Bama: 1-2

LSU would then win the tie breaker over Ole Miss.
