another cop bashing thread....it's not fair to blanket all cops with the actions of some...the 99% are really giving the 1% a bad rap
union, boot lickers and police chief reply:
* let's get all the facts 1st
* cop feared for his life
* put yourself in that situation and see what you do!
* operated within normal procedures and policy
if cops wanted to stop cop bashing maybe they should report illegal behavior to the authorities?
I mean, isnt what they are charged to do? But they turn a blind eye to when their buddy does it.
un-fricking-acceptable IMHO. fricking trash.

The Fappening guys made no secret they were engaging in criminal conduct. The LEO's are actually hired to uphold the law and should be held to a certain standard.

So the majority of this board cheers on the fappening people stealing nudes of celebrities and couldn't wait to look at the pics but an officer looks at a girls phone and it's so unforgivable that he should be burned at the stake.
The assumption is that the people who did the fappening will probably be prosecuted. I have doubts about the cops.
Both are criminals, one just has a badge.
See the difference?

The Fappening guys share. TPOS cops don't.

If you are unable to discern the difference between a paid, armed, person of authority doing this and some computer geek in a basement I am at a loss for words. Perhaps you should just do us all a favor and cancel whatever internet options you have available and spend the money on licorice.

The colleague upbraided him for violating a citizen's privacy, contacted a commanding officer, and arranged for Harrington's arrest on felony charges. I kid, of course. The colleague actually complained that the photo wasn't more explicit.

What a bunch of crap. Someone, anyone, arrest these criminals.
Posted on 10/29/14 at 4:39 pm to Hawkeye95
Have they released the photos?

Would you put your hands up to a criminal and hope he doesnt kill you?
Actually, yes.
I think this is the smart move rather than trying to outdraw the criminal.

You're suggesting that from here on out, we should assume that every cop is a criminal. I'm not doing that.
Amen bro
I just don't understand the automatic cop-hate that prevails on here.
Someone must be skating close to the line to have so much belligerent interface with the police.

Dude how is this remotely the same? One guy is a perv in a basement somewhere. the other one is paid by me to protect me and the other citizens that pay his salary.

And I love me a good cop bashing thread, but this is absurd.
It really isn't. Maybe it's just because I live in New Orleans, but it sure seems like there are more sketchy cops than good cops.

Why the duck any cop is going through a cell phone after California v. Riley is beyond stupid. What if instead of of nudes he found evidence of a murder. Guess what, it wouldn't survive a suppression hearing.
Lady is going to get paid though.

They're graduates of the TSA school of law enforcement.

I concur; I'm better than that. Of course if they're hot I'd probably wonder how good they'd look naked.

But everyone should have my mentality and assume that anything on your phone should be considered insecure and accessible to anybody that really wants to get it.
I tell my kids this all the time. Assume EVERYTHING you say or do on your phone is public knowledge.
