At least 1 starter on the floor with the bench, sometimes 2 if he puts in Tyreke/Gordon with Rivers/Fredette.

He actually had 2 of the "big six" on the court at all times, which imo is crucial to success for this team. Ideally, I'd like to have 3 of them on the court at all times. I didn't mind his rotations at all last night, which I don't know if I even said that after a game last season

No I speak for the board. You've made the same point over and over again. It's old, and it's a shitty point to begin with.

If we start the season off let's say 25-25 because our guys take a while to gel, but end the season 49-33 and miss the playoffs... do we still want him fired?

Ending the season on something like a 24-8 run would be enough to save his job imo

actually I've granted him authority to speak for me in this matter so as is becoming a pattern you are once again incorrect

If something like this scenario occurs I do not think he will be fired. if it is clear this team is going through growing pains but then start clicking on all cylinders and finish strong he stays imo

Our over/under is 43.5. If we don't beat that, barring just absurd injury luck, Monty has to be gone. Playoffs shouldn't be the barometer in the western conference for a team at our level. If we do go around 45 wins and miss the playoffs then next year is playoffs or Monty's gone. But I'll take significant improvement and being in the hunt this year.

Also the magic are no worse than the lakers, celtics, jazz, bucks, sixers, and pacers. Winning games comfortably against those bottom tier teams, especially at home, is crucial to a successful season

Monty's rotations last night were 100% what I was hoping for coming into this season. Starting Tyreke at the 3 was an option he wouldn't have even entertained last year. The way he's deploying Davis on defense shows he learned a bit from Team USA and seems to really know what he wanted to do with a legit big like Asik. If I continue to see coaching like I saw last night, I am 100% fine with Williams as the coach if Davis and him have a good rapport. For the record, last season I was completely over it. He said he learned quite a bit from the Team USA camp this year, which garnered a "believe it when I see it" in my head. I saw legit growth from Monty last night.
His rotations were OK because he was playing the Magic. I am not sure how those rotations would work against a good team. He still played 5 backups together for too long a period of time together. Also, bringing Asik back in the 1st with under 2 minutes was an odd move.

at 7:28 left in the 4th, monty subbed in davis and evans for rivers and fredette...it caused a rip in the space-time continuum

Did we watch the same game? Or are you being sarcastic? Two of the best 6 players were on the court at all times, other than the final 2:30 of the game.

Jimmer was clearly really frustrated and had lost his confidence and Monty just kept him out there.

I think a good bit of this had to do with Jrue's cut and being out of the game for a much of the 2nd half.

True - enough of him and Demps already. Time to win or run them both out of town.

We have one of, if not, the best players in the league. 2 All Stars in Gordon and Holiday (albeit one shot wonders), a rookie of the year, one of the best 3 point shooters in the league and finally a good center.

Depends on how the team does.

That argument doesn't compute with running Demps out of town as well

Unless the supposed one shot talents aka Gordon and Holiday are busts are Pelicans and we over paid and put too much credence in their abilities to contribute.
One NBA All Star team and an all rookie season may not be worth what we gave up and are paying
Long season though - let's see what happens.

True. Young and inexperienced isn't an excuse anymore. Needs to make the playoffs or he's gone.

Monty should have been fired two years ago.

True. Too much talent, not enough progress.
