It's better to screw up who is number 4 than who is number two. This is the better format.

Bingo. Instead, there will be corruption and horse-trading among the committee members with biases and allegiances. It's going to be fun to watch, but it's not a good thing for the integrity of the sport.

You guys do realize this will be the one and only season that its 4 teams, right? The ratings for the semi-finals will be through the roof and the presidents of the fbs will finally see the money that we've been telling them all along would be there - expansion to 8 for next year. Then 16 in 2016 season. Book it.

It's going to be 2011 all over again with the "eye test," only now every season.

Wrong, if it was the eye test, Bama would be in. These rankings are based off nothing but what happened on the field. Can't make a logical case against tees ranking.

Ok, but can you explain why Michigan State is ranked ahead of Kansas State and Notre Dame?

MSU has played tomato cans. It lost by 20 to the only good team it has played.

Kansas State has beaten Oklahoma, and its only loss is to the #3 team.

ND's only loss is on a questionable call on the last play against the #2 team.

This going to end badly with just a four team playoff. doomed to fail.

I've been saying this ever since they said it was only going to be FOUR TEAMS in the "playoffs".

We'll see. So far this is better than BCS IMO because it doesn't rely on a traditional human poll. Now I know they're close anyway, but if the Committee can keep this up, I prefer it.

The traditional polls, especially until recently, were very much prone to setting the Top 25 and then moving up and down only with wins/losses. The Committee looks like it'll largely disregard preseason expectations and recent history, which is great, IMO.

And what has OU done that is so special?

Didnt the polls effect the bcs formula? Why do people keep saying just stay with bcs formula and keep it all computer when human voting who used archaic voting methods had a bjg influence on the formula? I hate th e you lost so automatically drop 10 spots nonsense...I mean the polls now have teams who lpst head to head ahead of teams that beat them....that is stupid. But yet people want that influence in it instead of people who did a pretty good job on first poll.
Remember coaches campaigning to move up a spot or two because thats what they needed to make up a difference on the computers? Ya...flawless computers...well outside the humans
