What do you guys think : to far, not enough, or just right?

[quote]Green Bay Southwest football co-coaches Pat Wallace and Tim Birr were faced with a decision going into the final game of the Trojans' season on Oct. 17.
They had learned in the days prior to the game that several of their players had been part of a cyberbullying incident involving some of the girls at the high school. Cyberbullying occurs when an individual bullies someone through electronic technology.
Perhaps because it is relatively new for schools, no rules were in place for such a thing and the players weren't violating the athletic code policy.
But in talking to those who had knowledge of the situation, it went something like this: The group was making fun of some girls and their appearances in a group-chat setting. That conversation got outside the group and onto social media.
On a scale of bad to really bad when it comes to bullying, some might not think it's either.
There is a chance the players didn't think they were doing any harm. They have paid the price for their choice and if the school decides their punishment is over, it's probably enough. Bringing awareness to the students that those actions aren't tolerated is what counts.

Why are we treating this as different than regular bullying?
And why is bullying so terrible nowadays? I got bullied and you know what? It sucked, but it built character.
"First they came for the bullies, and I said nothing, because I was not a bully.
Then they came for the class clowns, and I said nothing, because I was not a class clown.
Then they came for the antidisestablishmentarianists, and I said 'what the frick is that?'"

Something tells me that those kids aren't Jameis-level players.

The specific act was a few players tweeted side by side photos of a couple of different girls to different animals. The same girls that complained about it to officals were ones that have been engaged in similar activities.
Does gender play a role in these cyber bullying incidents?
