Cox just called and offered me a bunch of shite CONFIRMED SCAM (See OP)

They want to give me an upgraded modem for the doubled internet speed, a free movie channel, and the phone service (which I dont want). She said that the phone would be $5 extra if I choose to use it (which I won't.) How are they gonna get me for the other shite?

We get those kind of calls from "AT&T" here at work. They want to do all kinds of shite for us and save us money on our account... but then they'll ask for your account number.

I assume there is an asterisk(*) 'free' premium channel & $5 phone for a "limited time only"?
After the introductory *limited time only" you get the normal rates?

Sometime ago I had some service try to set me up with something like that. They were a third party sales operation hired by either cox or att. Can't remember which. They were very high pressure aggressive etc.
