Which works more to either teams advantage?
...Harper relaying some info to the Carolina defense about the Saint's offense, or having Harper on Carolina's defense to get burned by Cooks and Stills?

Sadly, you know Harper is going to play his arse off and their coaches know that the Saints want to target him. If we allow this scrub to get an INT on us.......

I truly hope you don't believe this...
Harper didn't understand the system when he was here, what makes you think he can relay any useful information that coaches don't already know from tape? This "past player impacting the game with intrigue and subterfuge theory" is the most overblown and meaningless idea in football.

I doubt Harper knows anything about the Saints offense besides the players' names. NFL players have a hard enough time learning their respective unit's playbook. There's no way he knows any calls from the Saints' offensive playbook(s) from last year.

Like others said, this is pretty over blown. Look at the Detroit game, where we played against our old QB coach who runs the exact offense we do, and we still played well for 3 1/2 quarters. Even if they did know the calls, they still have to execute. Besides, I'm almost sure that we change up calls, cadences, and signals to some extent every season.

This is about as close to a guarantee as there is.

For the most part I agree but see Fujita and the Browns vs. us. He knew our offense very well(and that much was said).
Most players aren't going to be able to do that though.
@mm, we change it up a lot more now since that Cleveland game. Lesson learned.
Problem is philosophy and concepts rarely change with a coach. Lombardi knew about that type of stuff even if he didn't know what was coming when. It is an advantage but not a huge one. We also knew this stuff since Lombardi learned under Payton so in this case it was a push.
