Let me start this weeks thread by loosening my pants.

What a great day to be alive! Great weather this weekend coupled with unbelievable Saints and LSU games make Mondays better.

Friday night, I started off at Bouligny Tavern. I love the vibe of the bar. Retro furnishings, vinyl records playing and damn good cocktails capture my attention. I ordered two Preservation Sours. It had rye, lemon, peach jam and caramel syrup. They were great and refreshing.

We then went to LPG. I had heard great things from several posters on this board that they have the best burger in the city. It did not disappoint, and I was thinking about returning on Sunday for another one.

I started the meal with steak tartare and a Kentucky Saint (Bourbon, St. Germain, Aperol and Lemon). The drink was not as good as the ones consumed at Bouligny. The tartare was a very small plate, and came with pickled quail eggs. I prefer a regular yolk, but the "pickled" taste did go well with the meat.

I ordered the burger for my entree with a Bee's Hive (Rye, grapefruit, lemon and jalapeno syrup). They were both outstanding. As I continued the drink the cocktail, it became spicier.

It is a simple burger made with Cadillac ingredients. I was very impressed and can't wait to try it again. I didn't even touch the fries.

After enjoying a great dinner, I did not want the night to end. We headed to the Other Bar. I ordered a shot and a PBR tall boy. It comes with complimentary gold fish!

On Saturday, I woke up early to do the laundry. I then ran some errands before heading up to tailgate. I had to stop at Rouses for some shite. I picked up a piece of sausage and a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit from the hot line to line my stomach. For a little under $4, I much prefer this than anything Mcdonald's produces.

I then returned home to wait for my ride. I had a few minutes to kill so I stopped in the Avenue Pub. I ordered their barrel edition of Elijah Craig.

Nothing beats a bourbon in the morning.

When we got to BR, I dropped my shite at the tailgate and went to the Village One hospitality tent. I was with some big whigs, so I went to see the digs.

There was an open bar and free food. The bathrooms were in the PMAC and air conditioned. The food looked terrible. It consisted of some red slaw, pulled pork, and some pasta dish.

I didn't make a plate, but I did try the slaw and pork. I'd be embarrassed to serve that food. Whoever catered the event needs to re-evaluate things.

I then returned to my tailgate. One of the families brought some egg rolls, which I have never seen at a tailgate. They were from the Rouses in Lafayette and were fresh. I'll be honest, I ate about three of those frickers.

We fried fish and shrimp. We also had the usuals: boudin, cracklin, etc.

The best thing I had at the tailgate was a grillades and quinoa with goat cheese. I wanted more of this.

Before going in to the stadium, I grabbed a Gambino's pettifor, a piece of fudge and polished off my fifth of Beam. Busbeepbeep, thanks for stopping by.

I sat in the west club. Before going to the seat, I meandered around to see what the dining options were. For an appetizer, I made myself a frito pie. They had two options for the chili, a traditional one and a chicken one. I went with the traditional.

During a break in the action, I went back for some pulled pork, sweet smoked sausage, some fried things, a hot dog, and an ice cream cone. All items were satisfying but not great.

Right before the half, I grabbed a couple more drinks and an ice cream cone. During the GBFTL performance, I prayed for victory. A voice in my head told me to go getter another ice cream cone you fatty. I obliged. That victory is on me guys. You're welcome. Victory has never tasted so sweet. Go to Hell, Ole Miss.

After the game, I grabbed a few beers for the ride. It took a little more than 2.5 hours to get home.

When I got home, I passed out. I slept for about 5 hours.

Upon awaking, I read articles about the game then showered for mass. Mass was awesome along with the music. We prayed for the Saints and the Holy Spirit was present.

After mass, I went to work on my tan at Lafitte's. The sun was amazing.

I had to head back Uptown to run an errand. I grabbed lunch at Felipe's. Since I'm watching my carb intake, I ordered the plato. It came with a meat, beans and rice. I substituted my rice with refried beans. The pork was decent, but the sour cream was very depressing. I think it was water with sour cream mixed in. If an owner is going to go cheap, it should be on toilet paper, not sour cream.

After lunch, I went home for a few cocktails to get my mind right for the game. We then went to Vitascope. I got some spinach dip, chips, salmon sushi and a soft shell crab. The dip was mediocre along with the sushi. I knew that going in since I was at a hotel. (P.S....If anyone from Vitascope reads this, you may want to change your fryer grease.)

I then marched into the dome expecting to dominate. I think the grown arse man, with face paint, behind me was a little concerned.

At the suite, we had beef medallions, gumbo, hot dogs, pulled pork, and cupcakes. The medallions were cooled and came with a horseradish. The gumbo did not look great, but I was surprised by its flavor. The pork was good.

My favorite thing was the hot dog. The peppers made it happen!

The vanilla cupcakes were delicious. I ate about 3. The bartender saw that I liked them and boxed them for me to take home. I gave them to some security guys downstairs.

We also had a little half time entertainment. They were better than Southern's marching band.

After the game, I cabbed home and hit the sack.

Stay fat my friends.

I think I am starting to figure out who you are. The suite pics gave it away.

Next time at LPG, get the turtle soup bolognese.

Arse has a body double. Hell, even busbeepbeep has been confused for a double / relative.

I find the Dome dog varies depending on the section.

Last time I had a Dome Dog, I got the one topped with pulled pork, and when I went to take a bite, the weener slid out the bottom of the bun and "slinky-ed" down the stairs

I love me a Tiger Dog too though.

Awesome as always...... this is always my favorite thread.

I tried to take some pics for a fatty rewind but I kept for forgetting. My weekend consisted of Skirt Steak Friday night, Eggs and rice for breakfast Sat,left over red beans and half a link of boudin for lunch Sat. Whole Hog, White Beans and Chix and Sausage Jambalaya with enough sweets to give allnof Ethipia the Sugar Diabetes for the game Sat night. Sunday we had Crabmeat Nachos, Onion Rings and me and my wife split a shrimp po-boy. I had a sushi roll for a snack and when I got home more hog and white beans.
