I wasn't feeling well this weekend and decided some good soup would really hit the spot.

Noodle & Pie is a cute little place, brightly lit due to really large windows and huge doors that open up to combine the outside with the inside. This was really nice considering of late, we've had some of the most beautiful weather New Orleans has seen all year. I also loved the Edison light bulbs in the string lights. Nice touch.

I ordered the Summer Miso Ramen, which is Tofu, soft egg, toasted sesame, crisp Napa cabbage, chili sesame oil, green onions, and enoki mushrooms. I wanted some meat, so I added pork belly. The ramen was good, not great. I also had some green tea, which was very good.

My friend got the House Bowl. She said it was good, but on the salty side.

I had no complaints about the service.

What brings N&P down to 2 stars is the poor value. The small bowl of ramen that I had was $10. And their small can't be compared to a small or regular sized bowl of pho at a Vietnamese restaurant. It really was small. As in I could've eaten two of them to fill me up. The pork belly that I added was 2 very small strips of pork belly for $2.50. The cup of green tea was $3.50. After tax and tip, it was a $20 lunch, and I wasn't really satisfied.

If it wasn't such a terrible value, I might go back to try other menu items, but at that price point, I won't return. There are just way too many other choices for much cheaper.

My husband and I ordered take out once. We were not a fan. I can't exactly remember why we didn't care for it. We were not only unimpressed, but had to force ourselves to eat our dinner. We were pretty disappointed considering we live a few blocks away & was hoping for a good new take out restaurant.

Went once and haven't been back. I remember wanting to go back to try the Brussels sprouts and fried chicken.

Nice review.
I've never been to N&P, but want to try it. The value has kept me away so far.

I'm curious, how was the crowd? I could see it not hanging around very long.

The crab/pork bowl is my favorite--incredible depth of flavor. I thought the $12 bowl was a generous serving--I can't finish the whole bowl (pork, greens, roasted corn, etc plus noodles and a soft cooked egg). You can add a second portion of noodles if the regular bowl is calorically insufficient.

But I agree that the small plates/apps are a bit spendy.

I agree with all of this. I live right around the corner and decided to check it out one night this summer because of all the reviews, and I love a good bowl of ramen.

Way too much salt, not enough meat and veggies, and too much broth was my take away. But that's just my personal preference when it comes to ramen.

It was very overpriced aswell.

I don't see a crab/pork bowl on the menu. Was it a special?

The various flavors are in rotation as specials. Here's a pic of the crab/pork: LINK
No crabmeat in the bowl, just a crab broth. The seafood + pork together provide a punch every bit the equal of good gumbo. Damn delicious...

That looks good. The meat that I got was equivalent to one of those pieces of meat and mine was $12.50.

Picture showed a dinner portion. Dunno if the lunch vs dinner are different sizes/amounts. Still haven't been for lunch.

They aren't different sizes/amounts. You can either order the regular for $10, or the large for $13.

What didn't make sense to me regarding pricing was that my friend's house ramen had meat in it, mine didn't come with meat...yet they were both $10. By the time I added my 2 slivers of pork belly, mine was $12.50. Your large bowl with a great portion of meat in it was only 50 cents more than mine.

Their small plates have good value. Their ramen is a lil lacking though

I don't know about that. My friend's friend got the calamari and the portion was definitely on the small side for $8. The calamari at La Thai is $9, and is about 5 times the serving size.

I've only been one time to N&P and had a great meal there…would definitely go back. But someone also posted their menu is much smaller now, not sure how legit that is?

i normally get this, split an app with the other half, and share a piece of pie and leave well fed without feeling like i overspent.

That's about the size of my standard order there....

I tried it awhile back and posted a review. Odd sort of concept that I'm not sure really works. It wasn't bad, I guess, but I haven't been compelled to return.
