We are retiring the "we are young" stuff for 2 years at least, right?

we are playing a lot of young guys due to a couple years of recruiting/development failure. i'll give you this year (esp since once the coaches finally benched the above guys and played the young guys, our D has pulled a 180)

but that is done for a couple years, right? if we're young this year, then we won't be next year...and with so many freshmen playing, the moratorium should last for 2 years, eh?

And a couple guys leaving early.

I don't understand why some deny the "being young" at the beginning of the season as a reason for our play. One or two guys? Fine, but we have a lot of youth. But we are more than half way through the season and the young guys are growing up.

So sure next year, when the freshmen and sophomores are sophomores and juniors with a full year experience, the we are young reasons will mostly be done.

I couldn't read what you posted last night if I tried. I was in the stadium with zero phone reception.

well we had areas that aren't really young that were pretty bad. biggest example was OL

our OL, RBs, DEs, LBs, and DBs were not young

our DTs were young (big issue)

our QBs are young (big issue)

our WRs are young (didn't really matter b/c quinn/chi are studs)

people were acting like our entire team was young and affected by players leaving early (when only WRs and DTs were, really)

The D could be pretty young after next year if a couple JRs like White, Robinson, and Beckwith leave early.

The "we are young" excuse is very valid this year. But, you're right. It is not valid for the next two years.

No. College football is not cyclical at all.

It'll never happen again.

History doesn't say that whatsoever.

Aren't we playing the most freshmen and sophomores in the country? Or at least up there?

Yes, we are/were young. But players are growing up. I don't understand why this should even be a thread.

MAIN issue.

99% of the time, a football team goes as the QB position goes. You can argue that until you're blue in the face, but it will always be my stance and it will never change.

The ONLY time that ISN'T the case, is when the team has a dominating defense.

See Super Bowl Champ Ravens (00)
Super Bowl Bears (06)
2011 LSU

I'm sure there are more.

that doesn't mean that early on we were young

now, if you want to say our experienced guys are examples of failed recruiting/development, then fine

but young? no

welter, for example, is not young
