Thank his parents for signing date. He wanted to go to Ole P@SS. It took him a couple of games to come around.
He was always coming to LSU. There is someone really close with Godchaux who posts here sometimes. He went on the recruiting trips with him. Known him his entire life. Godchaux was all LSU.
And a few games to come around? Godchaux was our best DT vs Wisky, the 2st game of the season. He made an immediate impact for us.

He lost his poise in front of the officials.

Based on potential. Valentine is a force in his own right, hope we get to see it come to fruition.

Hill as a DE was on that level as a freshman
Hill was a specimen but didn't really play much as a freshman.

As stupid as this sounds I think Valentine is better.
If Gilmore was being held out by the SEC we'd be hearing...

A. J. Duhe started as a 17 year old freshman. He was incredible. As well as Godchaux is playing, Duhe played better.

True freshmen almost never play much so it's a tough question. Best I remember.

He took his helmet off on the field. Les made a funny comment about it.

I always thought this, too...I don't know anyone close to him, but when he tore his ACL last year in 1st or 2nd game of season, he made the statement that he was so glad LSU didn't abandon him and try to take his offer away...
Has come back with a vengeance!!! Dude is a beast on the DL...

Godchaux is quickly becoming one of my favorite current Tigers.
(And, if memory serves, didn't he miss most — or all — of his senior year in HS?)

how can anyone say he is the best True freshman DT ever? I don't recall him making any real big plays. he seems to be holding his own most of the time and not getting blown away but I don't recall him penetrating and blowing up any plays
