1971 Chevrolet C-10

Seller may be a bit high, but not much. Automatic hurts it a bit.

I wonder about shite like this all the time.

Why pay 38K for a shitty F-150 that will depreciate and not be nearly as cool as a 20K truck that essentially is brand new because it's been redone?

The restoration was done in 2000.

I want a resto-modded late 60's Chevy/GM or Dodge...Chevy/GM with a built 6.0 and a monster cam...or the Dodge with a built 6.1 hemi with a monster cam

ETA: Classic truck prices seem to be on the rise too. Won't be very cheap for long.

It's a cool old truck, but unless you use it just occasionally, it wouldn't be too good for a DD.

Everybody wants AC, power everything, and satellite radio.

I'm pretty sure the 6 cyl, SWB, step side, original white, no trim, and painted bumper trucks are all former fleet trucks. They provide for a clean, low mileage base for resto, resto-mod, etc. IMO, they are not as valuable in a collectors sense than other 67-72s. That truck isn't worth close to $20k.

My first vehicle was a '68 SWB fleet side and had it throughout college. My best friend had one of these fleet trucks (it was used by local power company) that we restored and put a big block in.

Check this Chevy out. This site streetsideclassics.com has tons of old trucks and they are all in driving distance of BR. Old trucks and old truck customization is the rage right now.

Yeah, especially the plain-Jane models.

3 on the tree, wood bed; bonus points if it has AC.

I put Vintage Air kit in mine, about $1500 today. The most difficult thing in dailying these is that a lot did not come with power steering, power brakes, or disc brakes. Strangely, some came powered drum brakes... talk about locking up!

The cool things about the 67-72 is that the front clips from 67-92ish swap out with only a few more bolt holes needing drilled... so getting more modern engines, PS, PB, steering rack, and suspension is quite easy.

Most GM automatics in 50s and 60s were 2 speed powerglide. Into the 70's, GM was behind in the game because all other manufacturers were 3 speed. GM finally rolled out the TH400 & TH300 to replace it. A 71 with powerglide would be one of the last trucks with one.

GOAT, back in the day.

You're spot on about DD'ing them.

That's one of those deals where the idea might be greater than the actual doing.

I had a 1979 model with a three on the tree. Earlier models had a power glide.
