Why didn't Tebow try to convert to TE/RB hybrid?

He could have been a serious weapon in the right offense. Line him up to block, catch passes, run the ball between the tackles, and occasionally have him throw the ball on a trick play. I know an offensive mind in the NFL had to think about this!!

Ego..... He would rather not play than be a TE / RB hybrid type player. He only would play as a QB

People always say ego, but does it ever occur to people that it just wasn't appealing to him? Some people who are good at math don't become accountants because they think it's boring, and we don't say it's because they have a huge ego.

That comparison doesn't work here.

Lots of technique involved with blocking 300 lb DLs who are just as athletic as tebow. Even if he was a TE dating back to HS there's no guarantee that he could block, run routes, or catch the ball at an nfl level.

In NE he tried, but it didn't work and he got cut. Nice hate though.

Cause you got tight ends that are tight ends and have worked and trained and are t-totally built for being tight ends.

Why do these threads happen every god damn week?

Maybe during his stint inNE he tried and failed. Maybe he simply wasn't as good as we all thought.

Why does everyone just assume he would be a great h-back?

Because he is big, fast, strong, and athletic? Like every other h-back/tight end in the NFL

His body wasn't unique, his skill set at that position wouldn't be unique

The Tebow to TE theory is probably one of the dumbest in all of sports. WTF makes people think he can block or catch? He's a QB and probably one of the top 32 in the NFL teams are just lazy and don't want to deal with the media

Exactly

It's dumb. Just because he is a good athlete for a qb that qualifies him to be a beast tight end or linebacker

ALL of those guys are amazing athletes at those positions

If a team thought tebow could help them win, they'd sign him.

The Jets tried using him like that and he sucked at it. I'm pretty sure at some point he refused to go into games for wildcat situations because he thought he could still play QB.

Yes, I'm sure they all thought about it given what a great college player he was...then they realized he simply isn't good enough at any of those things to be in the NFL as a QB/TE/RB, and it was proven time and time again.
