Found this can of bean dip in the camper and my kid wants to eat it. Does this date code mean it expired in 2006 or 2014?

Sell by date?
Anyway, don't let your child be a test rat.
Toss it.

Doesn't look like it would be 8 years expired.

You will know in about 4 hours....
Last winter, I spent 2 nights of a camping trip in the "comfort station" of Bogue Chitto SP.
I started out in the camper's bathroom, but couldn't do that to the wife and kids.
I barely had enough energy to pack up camp and drive home.

"Sell by" dates don't mean "expired", necessarily. Also, companies put those with a window to ensure it's before it goes bad.

If it's not bulging the top or sounding like a beer when you crack it open... You can probably eat it. But it's gonna taste like arse more than likely.

No biological activity means no gasses normally.
