Stop making shite up, tuba. The push for voter ID is all about an effort to ensure the integrity of the election process.
Mandela implemented a voter ID system for South Africa. Please tell us if you think he was trying to suppress anybody's right to vote.

The reason voter ID is opposed by Dem.'s and Liberals is that the Dem.'s conduct voter fraud and cheat every election. ID's would stop it. I used to be in politics. I could write a book about it. The LAE Teachers Union leaders gets the Headstart vans and go pick up Mexicans to vote Dem.. They can't speak English and sleep 8 to a room on pallots, while picking sweet potatoes for a few weeks. The Union leaders get their relatives to vote the dead people's names from the obituaries right before the polls close. I saw them vote dead people names holding newspaper obituaries.Fraud. Union activists check off voters lists to see who did not vote that day and right before the polls close about 6:30, they get family members to come in and vote the names of those who have not voted yet that day. The Teachers union and Planned Parenthood leaders take 50 pre-voted Democrat absentee ballots to each nursing home and get Democrat ballots SIGNED by residents to take to the courthouse. Crazy, sick, disabiled seniors get voted Democrat 100%. I know, my mother and Aunt were among them. The Dem's also get kids names out of town in college or working and get a Dem.party leader to vote those names. They asked to vote my son's name Democrat, when he was out of town at college. His old arse't football coach in the Teachers union did it. He also voted where he was, so he voted twice. Fraud.

What SpidermanTUba doesn't get is how condescending he comes across. He does not realize how insulting his feigned "knighting" for women and minorities is. Completely insincere.

The left has doubled down on its message that blacks and other minorities just aren't up to snuff when it comes to getting a photo ID.
This^.
Just more "soft bigotry of low expectations".

I agree with him, but I also would like to tell him to mind his own business. This is an American debate that we will solve on our own, and few of us are swayed by the opinion of a Brit, of all people.
I'd believe this if I didn't see many Americans use what the Brits opinions are when it came time to talk gun control.
Somewhat of an example below: I bet the chances are good that someone who wants to supports gun control uses the Brits has a shiny example to why we should have gun control. Would then in the same breath knock Brits for what they think here with having voter ID's. These actions just go down as another hypocritical argument. In my short time following politics I see this from both sides all the time, and it seems very rampant. A bunch of hypocritical reasoning that many times gets debunk by someones own reasoning from a different argument with another issue

Well said. In addition, universal healthcare and immigration as well. They are the shining example except when they are not the shining example.

I think that both sides are just trying to gain political advantage, which distracts us from the silliness of it all.
One side is trying to maintain an illegal advantage.
The other side is trying to return to some sort of rational fairness.
you choose which sides are which.

n Cali, you are only required to produce an ID for buying alcohol if the shopkeeper thinks you look under 35.
In Colorado a few years ago, I was asked for an ID at a burger joint (upscale place in Denver.) Now I was 74 years old at the time, and although I don't look it, I am sure I looked at least 60.
First time in my life I had been 'carded.' Felt strange. Maybe someone was just messing with me.

Colorado law requires id to be checked on all liquor sales regardless of age. I don't drink, but I laughed when a gray haired biker in his leathers and club vest was asked for his ID.
Think this guy and the female clerk at Walgreens asking for his ID
