OSU needs to beat MSU by 14+ to even have an element of an argument.

I don't think there are even OSU fans saying they belong in the playoff today. They have the worse loss of any 1 loss team. If they win out, and any other conference champ drops 2, I think they're in. If it was is MSU/Ole Miss OSU is competing with for the last spot, OSU is getting in

I keep saying it and i'll say it again, IF Ohio State wiins at Michigan St, they will have to follow that game up by winning AT nationally ranked (8-1) Minnesota. If Ohio State beats back to back 1 loss teams and then beats a 1 loss Nebraska team in the B1G Championship....Ohio St is in. Deal with it haters.

A one loss Mich St will get in because of that trip to Oregon
A one loss Ohio St should not get in because of that Va Tech debacle at home
The SEC Champ is all but guaranteed a spot, I still think the West will beat itself up even more.

At Minnesota?! Good luck dealing with that crowd, which will only be 60% OSU fans

I feel like Minnesota is on the verge of getting exposed.

Your thread title makes zero sense, but I'm sure someone has already pointed that out.

Minnesota plays @Illinois this weekend, thats a W. Then they play at home against Iowa, thats a win. If Ohio St beats Michigan St, watch how fast the Ohio St/Minnesota game becomes hyped by the media.(8-1) Ohio St vs (8-1) Minnesota....all that can do is help Ohio St. Ohio St still has its biggest games ahead of them....which is great news for Ohio St.

Their best test thus far was Northwestern at home. I think Northwestern is decent, but schizo. Freaking Purdue should have beaten them last weekend.

Eastern Illinois
W 20 - 42

Middle Tennessee
W 24 - 35

TCU
L 7 - 30

San Jose State
W 7 - 24

Michigan
W 30 - 14

Northwestern
W 17 - 24

Purdue
W 38 - 39

Also, one more thing to add...Maryland, they have a huge game at Wisconsin this weekend. If Maryland can win, they improve to 6-2 and i think start sniffing the top 25. Maryland's only losses are by 3 to a West Virginia team who just beat Baylor and Ohio St. Ohio St beat Maryland by 40+ points since this thread is on transitive property. lol

Yes, I just think OSU gets in because it is a name brand over either of those if they are the only SEC teams with 0 or 1 loss at the end

And you commented earlier that you want the 4 best teams in, and I'd agree if there was a way to determine who the 4 best were before the playoff, but there really isn't. We can argue til we are blue in the face on who the best 1 loss team is, but until the game is played on the field it is hard to know who is going to win. I think OSU could beat Auburn this year. I think they could beat KSU/TCU/Baylor. I think they lose to Bama and Oregon today. Do I think they lose to those teams in a month? I have no idea

My point was simply that I'm not in favor of limiting to only conference champs.

I must have been really drunk for this game. Never remember Miami coming to the Horseshoe this year.

Pretty much, although this is just another terrible thread by OP, per usual.

Fair enough.

My argument FOR conference champs is everyone in the SEC has a chance to win the SEC title. This year, if MSU/Ole Miss play each other the winner of that absolutely should be in the playoff (if they win the SECCG), but isn't there a thought process that the loser had a shot and didn't take advantage? Maybe TCU is undefeated too if they played Miss. St./Ole Miss schedule (Just throwing out the hypo), so shouldn't TCU have the shot instead of the loser of the Egg Bowl?

OSU has improved leaps and bounds since early Sept. but the CFB world today doesn't take bad defeats well.

Your division is shite and you lost your best OOC game to a mediocre team, thats all that matters.

I'm not saying that OSU deserves to be in the playoff, but that was the 2nd start for a redshirt freshman QB. To say that this team is completely different now and better is an understatement.

Eh, Ohio State looks nothing like the team that showed up week 2. The offense could put up points on anyone now. It's the defense that's still the liability.
