Heading to Nashville this weekend.

We're trying to pick a spot for a day hike that's within a 2 hour drive of Downtown Nashville.

Anyone have some recommendations?

If you like waterfalls Burgess state park has four. But it's a short hike, part of it is very strenuous if you hike to the bottom of the falls, which is worth it.
Cumberland falls also had a cool waterfall and a longer hike with a swimming hole at the bottom.

All of these are within 2 hours of Nash around Cookeville. Was there a few weeks ago. Highly recommend.

Radnor Lake...20 min from Downtown. Not difficult but a nice hike.

the falls are the correct answer. falls creek and burgess have been named.

if you go to falls creek, you're very close to 'cumberland caverns' and thats worth a visit as well..largest privately owned cave system in the world.

nope, sorry.

this place has been ruined by the militant hippy and feminists that roam the park and flip their shite if you so much as kick up dirt walking around it.

You ain't lying. Basically a bunch of Portlandia characters walking around over there just waiting for you to knock a rock out of place.

Also if any Nashville people are looking for a good place to get away from the city near all of the places mentioned for a couple days, this place is awesome and very affordable.

I honestly just like going to Percy or Edwin Warner and doing the 4.5 mile loop

Great thanks to all.

I'm assuming the water would be pretty cold by now for swimming?

Devil's Backbone near Hohenwald. It's on the Natchez Trace south of Nashville. Should be nice this time of year.

It can still be okay some days. Park on the east side and take the most strenuous trails (which are not that bad). You will most likely not see too many people on those. The weirdo moms walk the easy trails and road on the west side.

Rock Island State Park.

It's probably 20 or so minutes west of Fall Creek Falls and I usually visit both on a day trip.
