Yea another thread where white people talk about how black should act or what they think they act like based on limited interactions! Should be enlightening and full of accurate information

I've actually seen that quite a bit with kids of my black friends, particularly when the parents are black/white. Their kids catch a lot of hell for being "too white."

I have no idea where you live. But I've never seen this and I've lived in New Orleans all my life. Never experienced it myself either

Why? Most black people want their children educated and better off than they were. It's just a hard process especially in areas where outside influences contribute to a bad environment all around. There is no acting white, but there is a ton of code switching and that's something you just have to get used too

I don't get it...wasn't Russell Wilson a successful athlete married to a white woman? How is that not black enough?

Isn't he divorcing or hasn't he divorced that horse-faced gal?

agreed, but I'm just relaying first hand experience of witnessing the harassment and pressure put on these kids of my friends by their black friends who'd rather adopt a darker(not a pun) lifestyle, for whatever reason, some of their friends look down upon that the parents are trying to make life better for their kids than they had it, this is a real situation and not a remote incident, in fact it has all but ruined the life of one of my friend's sons, who succumbed to the pressure,, felt he had to make up for lost time of acting too white, gang, drugs, shooting, prison, and this was basically from a middle class family

Russell Wilson is black? I though he was hawaiian or something. He should change his name to LaRussell and embrace his African heritage.

Then you likely have very limited interaction with mixed race people.

Some examples:

and one more for good measure:

That simple minded hateful outlook on life is a poison.

Exactly. The old "when keeping it real goes wrong"joke is so true, which is repugnant. He's not an uncle tom he's just some guy behaving in such a way that the billionaire owner will reward him with 100 million. Or maybe he's just being himself. Either way black people are just as hateful and I am sick of the double standard.
