If some states, not just the former CSA, broke away it wouldn't be to relive the glory days of slavery. I believe that it is altogether likely that the USA will cease to be around in our lifetimes due to rampant corruption and crushing debt with the Federal government growing to unsustainable size. If/when states due seceed, then it will be because of the failure of the Federal government to provide a stable economy. Several states may try to band together, but I think a post USSR style break up would be more liekly, where the now independent states remain independent and form their own countries.

What do you mean "remain" allegiant to the USA?

I'm not about to fight a war so some jackass in DC, Hollywood, or NYC can claim a victory and protect their interests.....and I'm not backing coastal interests over my own if it came down to choosing sides.

So yes, I would most likely side with whoever wants to split off.

Depends on what structure the new country my state went with looks like. I believe that power should rest more with the state than the central government, so if my state just wanted to join another federal government type structure then I'd rather just stick with the devil I already know.

Were this to be the case, I'd probably end up in Texas.

Was the preservation of slavery a good enough cause? because that actually happened.

well my choice would depend on the type of government installed. if it was limited, as i prefer, i would choose teh south

and with emigration, it wouldn't be a shithole anymore
