I would make a similar complaint if this thread was about one of those movies. But I recognize that millions of people enjoy them (as well as comic book movies). Different strokes for different folks. . . Doesn't mean I have to like it, though.

I'll leave the thread now and stop being a hater.

You're wrong.

Resistance is futile.

Good point. When will we see him?!? Such a good character, and I wonder if Bettany is in for a few more movies.

you mean in the trailers right? I assume he's in by the third act of AoU(Stark creating him, too)

ETA: I think they are about a half dozen or so heroes away from doing a great Civil War movie.

If you take the rumors for what they are and you assume Thor is off the board (which is a BIG IF) and no one dies in AoU then here is your potential heroes

Steve, Tony, Hulk, Barton, Widow, Ms.Marvel(rumored), Panther(r),Ant-Man, Vision, Rhodey, Wanda, Pietro, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Cage, Jones, Dr. Strange, Mockingbird and possibly Skye? Some of these guys aren't powerful enough to be nothing more than a nuisance to others. I think you need more.

man Hunter is awesome. Though they look like they are going to pair him off with Skye and or kill him.

I'm thinking both. Hunter gets closer to Skye and then Ward kill's him. Later in the season. I do like though. He's got comic Clint Barton's personality in a lot of way's. Him losing his cool around Bobbie was funny. I'd like to see more of that.

That whole show is written so well.

If Marvel casts someone to play Robert Hunter, then you know they're going the Civil War route.

Could it be Scarlett witch causing captain america and black widow to reminisce their pasts? She can alter reality with her powers

I'm wondering if they bring in the time travel aspect like in the comics. It's a main plot point of AoU. I doubt it, though.

I think it's very loosely based on the comic.

Which is why I really don't understand why people are mad about the Civil War route. It's not like it will have much in common with the actual story.

It's the right direction, regardless. They won't pull directly, panel by panel, from Civil War, but those who have read the script state that it's going that route. Stark being a main character in Cap 3 and not in IM 4 pretty much confirms it.

There's still time to get there. I think it starts in CA3, but Thanos has so long been rumored for Avengers 3 I think they temporarily put differences aside for the greater good there and have the assistance of the Guardians to take him down.
I also think that one will further the Civil War plot which becomes full blown in Avengers 4 after we see the ripples of it for years. By that time, who knows which heroes will be out there.

Also, once they play the Thanos card, that's it. They know this thing has enough steam to stretch out over four movies.

Thing is with CW, it's too iconic. I mean shite, Steve died. He's never died(really) before that. It's a landmark storyline in the 616, the comcic AoU was just another event.

Off the top of my head major (non x-exclusive) events since the 70s:
Secret Wars
Kree-Skrull War
Galactic Storm
Infinity Gauntlet
AvX
House of M
Civil War/Dark Reign/ Siege
Disassembled
Annihilation
Heroic Age

Who's mad about Civil War? People are slightly skeptical because of the scope of Civil War compared to the MCU, but that's about it.

Yeah I've seen nothing but Civil War love. I didn't think it'd happen when posters used to mention it but now that it seems more likely, I've come around.

I like the theorized timeframe of CA/Iron Man tensions begin in Avengers 2, blow up in Capt America 3 and we see the fallout in Avengers 4.

I still want the Thanos/Avengers 3 that has been the implied path this whole time but an Avengers 4:Civil War would be fantastic.

Fan's have to let go of direct adaptions of the comics though. I see a lot of "How does CW work without Spiderman??", "So they must be bringing Punisher into the Marvel U", etc... Relax. It'll work.

Let it go fan's. The basic concept of a Marvel Civil War will be well established by the end of Avengers 2. It doesn't have to match up with the funny books.
