Google has a new email app out called Inbox — but it's invite only for now

The basic idea is this: it's still a Gmail app, but instead of giving you the traditional list of emails, it tries to intelligently give you more information so you don't have to even open them. Google Now-style info cards appear right in line with your message list, including things like flight times, package tracking, and photos.

Starting today, we’re sending out the first round of invitations to give Inbox a try, and each new user will be able to invite their friends. If Inbox can’t arrive soon enough for you, you can email us at inbox@google.com to get an invitation as soon as more become available.

doesn't matter, if you don't have an invite, it won't work.

i got an invite by going to Google Plus, searching for "inbox for gmail" and commenting on some people's post with a request.

From what I've been told by a Google source, most of today's requests should be given invites from Google by the end of the week.
