We have a terrorism expert in the house.

I have to agree with him Roger. If this was well planned and executed it would have been mayhem. Initial thought on this it was someone who was motivated but not prepared.

Well they did kill a dude and they made it into the Parliament building with a weapon. I'm sure the level of mayhem was far below what they intended. But it's still one of the top international stories and it's a fulfillment of the threat to attack Canada on their soil. It's a terrorist win.

Is not really shocked.

Someone recently said, most people don't realize World War 3 has already started.

I agree with that.

Cursory review of the information available (sketchy at best) is this was the work of one individual. The facts as we have them seem to bear this out. My condolences to the family of the soldier who was murdered by this coward.

It may have been a botched mission, or just not poorly planned, or it may have been "successful", based on their intent. Terrorism isn't always about killing lots of people; it's about striking fear into enemies.

It's possible that getting into government buildings with firearms is all they wanted to do to show what they're capable of. If they killed any people, that was just a bonus.

Meh, he's just a puppet of those who make up the as yet unnamed "they" who control the world.

I highly doubt this. You don't do this kind of thing unless you want to see a major, positive result.

This was exactly enough for places to tighten security and exactly little enough to be seen as a win for them.

This was just a fail on their part.

Most people don't realize that jihad has been going on for 1400 years. This Islamic stuff isn't new.

The name has changed (terrorism) but the plan has always been jihad.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all. I don't know much about what has gone down, but if the guy is a Muslim, it's not far-fetched that he had some sort of "jihad" mission in mind, whether it failed or not. Terrorism doesn't need a lot of casualties to "work", though.

Illuminati? Pfft, those trailer park denizens? No, I believe we were told "they" are far more exclusive and secretive than that.
