$200 registration fee. Around $95 a week for food. Vitamins about $120 a month.

People actually pay this amount of money to have someone tell them not to drink a gallon of soft drinks a day and eat some fruits and vegetables and for some vitamins? Jesus.

Congrats. Still seems like a shitload of money to pay for something that can be done for free.

I respectfully disagree with your bro-science. You could eat 1800 kcals a day...all at one meal...and exercise the same amount and get the same results.

No you wont bc you youll be hungry halfway through the day. Theres a reason why people who typically only eat one shitty meal a day are larger people or skinnier people who have a high bf %. Your body will store food if it feels its being starved.
The purpose of smaller meals every few hours is to stay full while eating healthier and that in turn lets your body break down the foods constantly. Hell I was eating more food on the diet than I was eating 3 shitty meals a day. Its mot just about calories taken in, but the types of calories you take in and how they are broken down. If you take in ton of sugars or sodium you are going to blow up over time. If you replace those calories with healthier calories the opposite effect happens.

I used to fast the first 18 hours of the day. I would have my first meal at about six after working out then a smaller meal before bed. After a bout three day I would not get hungry until around five. It really does not make a difference how many times a day you eat. Some people find it easier to have small meals throughout the day some the opposite. Do what works for you.

Please don't speak for everybody. I have no hunger or desire to eat before noon, despite swimming in the morning.

Fat people don't eat once a day. They might tell you that they do, but they are not eating 2500 kcals once a day and gaining weight.

Thanks, bro. Care to cite any studies from acredited medical journals? Body Builder Magazine does not count. And eating once a day is not "starving."

Since you can't even tell me how many kcals you are eating now, you cannot make that claim.

While I am all for "healthier" eating, the laws of thermodynamics disagree with you. If I eat 2 Snickers a day, and you eat 24 oz of chicken breasts, I will lose more weight than you.

My disagreement with you comes in the idea that 6 small meals are superior to 1 or 3 larger ones.

Again, it is working for you so stick with it.

Some PhD nutritionist at a university somewhere went on a diet of eating only Twinkies for a month, but fewer daily calories than his usual diet, and he lost weight, adding strength to the argument that it's all about the net calorie intake that determines weight gain, regardless of which macronutrient you consume.

Zero.

ETA: I don't need "certifications" to understand math or human behavior.

If you are going to quote me at least quote the entire sentence instead of one piece to make your point. There is a difference between being skinny and "skinny fat". My whole basis was taking about losing bf at the same time you are losing weight. Theres a ton of fad diets that help you lose a bunch of weight but never lose bodyfat, thus making the person "skinny fat". For alot of people thats fine for them though bc they are only fixated on the amount they weigh. Personally, I care more about the shape of my body.

My fact is as follows:

Weight loss is completely dependent on calories in v. calories out.

As to leading this topic in replies, there aren't any other topics I'm particularly interested in. Is that okay with you?

Not at all. Please review my outnumbering replies where I say "do what works." I was not one of the guys saying it is stupid to pay someone for help losing weight. I do think that with minimal effort, one can find the nutritional equivalent to Ideal Protein.

And I believe that many, including a guy that has hit 370 lbs., probable can't do it alone. He did not hit that weight because he has the discipline to "eat right and exercise." And I applaud him for doing whatever it takes to get healthier.

But I won't admit some unproven bullshite like "eat 6 times a day and workout on an empty stomach."

No I didn't. You are the one that seems to have an agenda. I don't know how to or care to clarify my position anymore than I have.

I started on Medi-Fast and lost around 60 lbs. I grew tired of the meals and switched to WeightWatchers. I have lost another 20 or so. I much prefer the WW program as you make a choice to eat what you want as long as you stay within your point allotment. I lost 10" in pants size and feel great. I have maintained this for almost 2 years now. I know it has worked for me. I have learned to make smart choices(grilled instead of fried for instance) and I am never hungry anymore. The hardest thing is reducing soft-drink and alcohol consumption. There is no better time than now to start something.

This is the best time of the year to start. Everyone slacks off once summer is over but if you start now you have cooler weather if you exercise outdoors and a two month headstart for getting in shape for next summer.
