If a cop is parked by a road shooting radar, trying to catch speeders, it's a speed trap. Doesn't matter what the speed limit is.

And then you take Gardere and that 2 lane road with 6 foot deep open ditches beside it has a speed limit of 45. This city is a joke.

Wasn't Starring's speed limit 40 or 45 before they widened it?

I think it was 35 when it was two lanes. Hard to remember as it seemed to take for-ever for them to finish construction.

According to you every time a cop uses his radar gun, it's a speed trap.

Trooper got myself and 3 others that were hauling arse on 49 in Manship once. I was last in line, he got on the side of me, pointed to follow him, and did that to every vehicle until he got to the front car and got behind him, was impressive. I'm just glad he only clocked me at 83 by the time I had hit the breaks

False. Speed limit changed from 40 to 35 less than a month ago.

Read the question I replied to. He asked if the speed limit was 35 before it was widened, which it was.

They changed the speed limit AFTER the road was widened. I read the question just fine.

The speed limit was 40 before they widened it. After the construction the speed limit dropped to 35; therefore, it has not always been 35 as you suggested.

I drove that stretch last week noticing the speed limit after I saw it discussed here.

35 seems pretty reasonable through that area, with residential driveways every 100 feet or so, and several residential streets entering it.

Just because a nice road is built doesn't mean that it has the traffic control of an interstate highway.

Glad you didn't get a ticket, and I guess he can pull over as many as will pull over.

Bluebonnet, on the other hand...

the link you posted referenced the speed after the road was widened, not before. The speed limit was 35 before it was widened.

The construction on Staring is nearly over, and is scheduled for completion in mid-May. But residents are still concerned that things could get worse in the future: They’ve been told that the speed limit will be raised from 35 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour. Shamlin said drivers are already going above 50 down the road, even with the construction, making it difficult for residents to back out of their driveways

I have never been able to picture how a cop pulls over more than one car at once, let alone five.

I'm just glad that BRPD is allocating resources to ensure the real criminals are taken off the streets. I slept better just reading this thread.

No it hasn't. You are a joke. I live on Starring and it was changed a month and a half ago.

The road was designed to be 45 and they started it as 40. Then, some townsfolk who live on Staring complained and they moved it down to 35 when it becomes residential.

It is 40 from Perkins till the Baskin Robbins before it goes down to 35.

Cops hide at the entry to my neighborhood and radar people with their car hidden. It's very frustrating. I don't speed on that road, but it just makes the road less safe because people are going at so many different speeds.
