I know, it's amazing what happens to a secondary when they have to cover for an extra second or two. Also doesn't help that PI/Holding is being called this year. Puts even more of a premium on pass rush.

What I couldn't believe is that our worthless trash of a defense couldn't produce any pressure against that oline.

Agreed. I have been worried about our o-line for 3 years running. That was my main concern coming into this season. And it sure is bad with respect to pass protection.

I would trade olines in a heart beat.

If the Falcons were having a decent season, Double Down would be all over this Saints board with his jaunty banter, having a good time at our expense.

When the Falcons suck, Double Down disappears around here.

Where are you Double Down? Tell us all about how this Falcon season is going to be a repeat of 2012!!

You realize he can just link all of the threads that were started about all of our potential and superbowl aspirations right? I'm all for Falcons bashing but now is a horrible time to do it.

We generated a ton of pressure actually, he was just able to avoid it up the middle and get rid of it

The frick? We have lost 4 O-Linemen this year. Our starting center is a rookie undrafted free agent.

Boy it sure feels good to sit back and laugh at DoubleDown after how poor his team is this year. Yep, just a big ol' laugh coming from me right now.

ATL is bad this year. No denying that. However, most predictions said as much for ATL. I went out on a limb and thought we'd get about 10 wins. Looks like I was wrong.

Now about those Saints though. What did everyone on here and everyone in the country say about how good NO was?

I had a bunch bookmarked and all but it's just not worth it. We both are horrible BUT at least my team beat yours, for now!

Yep.
Rocking a 3rd string RT, and a 3rd string brought up from practice squad center.

I've gotta admit though, I'm so tired of using "our O line is injured" as an excuse for the last 2 years. Didn't we have 4 Olineman die and lose 4 Ox last year too?

Every team has injuries. The good ones have depth & coaching to work around injuries. But alas, we have Mike Smith.

Not to the extent the Falcons have had these last two years. I've never seen anything like this.

Name one team that has had as many Oline injuries as the Falcons (2 starters, 5 overall). We actually had somewhat depth at oline, and the depth got injured.

Our front office is to blame though for constantly resigning players who are injury prone.

ETA: not to mention having Spoon hurt again (he gone) and Moore. Moore being gone has hurt a lot, because our incompetent FOH didn't make a real hire at FS, so now we have a shitty FS and SS.

Close, but not 5 overall. 2 starters though

Ryan Clady, JD Walton, Dan Koppen, and maybe Chris Kuper?

If people realized what Denver lost on defense, it was a miracle they did what they did. They lost almost half their defensive starters.

Denver's run game has been shite, and Clady is listed as playing?

But Denver also has Peyton Manning. It seems teams rarely blitz him because they have to have so many players in coverage. Ravens blitzed just about every play last week, and honestly didn't even have to with how shitty our Oline is.

I was referring to last year's OL for Denver. Their team had a myriad of injuries it was insane.

Oh, got ya.
Yes, at least this season for the Falcons hasn't been as bad injury wise.
We were up to 14 or 15 last year, with 9 or 10 being starters? It was something ludacris.

I thought we'd be contending for the NFC title. I also thought when ATL beat us that they were going to have the most dynamic offense in the NFL by far (because I could not fathom the suck of our defense)
