As I understand it, they are not programmed to record a ticket for going less than five miles over the limit.

I've never gotten one for less than 5 over. I've gotten one in a school zone before for like 6 or 7 over. I stopped speeding in school zones.

Oh, I get it now. You're incapable of acting responsibly unless government forces you to.
So you're the excuse government uses to keep the rest of us under their thumb.

Thanks a lot a-hole.

Orleans Parish has said they don't give a frick, they will never take them down unless they are absolutely forced to

If people are that upset then take to the streets at night and smash the cameras.

I got a photo speeding ticket in Gretna last year. I almost never go to Gretna, so I ignored ticket notice.

Months later, city of gretna turned the ticket over to a collection law firm out of ohio. This firm reports the collection item on my credit report at Transunion.

Does anyone have any experience with disputing these with the credit reporting agencies? Seems to me it isn't a valid debt as I never have done business with, agreed to owe money to, or ever owned property in the city gretna.

Just another money grab by the Government. Yeah it's all about safety.
We got rid of them in Zachary , but Baker has a sweet sit-up. They make a good bit with them. Ya know if they would just say that we need the money I'd at least respect the truth. But don't say "it's about safety" . bullshite ,it's about the almighty $.

I got a ticket in the mail recently from New Orleans through the "Photo Safety Program." I was on Canal, which has no speed limits posted anywhere that I've ever seen. It was at night and there were no other cars on the road. I noticed a flash while I was driving, not even near an intersection, but thought nothing of it. Turns out it was a speeding camera for Big Brother to give me a ticket for speeding at night when no other car is on the road and I am endangering exactly NOBODY. The pictures included with the ticket confirm it is a ghost town other than me.

I make a point of never going more than 8 or 9 miles over the speed limit because generally that means a live cop will let it go. This ticket shows me going 45 in a 35. Looking at the back of the ticket, it gives tickets for even going ONE mile over the speed limit. The price is $75 for going 1 mile over and $110 for going 10 miles over.

I have no way of confirming that I was actually going 45. How can the government get away with this bullshite? Why would the people of New Orleans agree to live under this police state bullshite?

My hatred of the government grows daily.

Boo Fricking Hoo! You were speeding and you got busted. Man up and pay the damn ticket.

I may have gotten one at 7:02 this morning in a school zone on St. Charles. I think the sign may have said 7:00. I'm never in this area and I wasn't aware of the zone. I think I was going about 25.

The only reason I was on St. Charles is b/c of all the fricking construction going on. I was leaving the park to head home. Jefferson at Mag is closed. Napoleon is one lane. Louisiana now has construction. It' s africking mess.

This is just stupid. Your logic is wrong. If the only proof of you robbing a bank is the surveillance video showing your face, do you think you will win if they don't bring in the camera so you can face your accuser?

No, what's stupid is a camera taking a picture of a vehicle and a random company assuming the person who purchased it is the driver. If you were speeding and a cop pulls you over, does he write the ticket to the you or the owner of the vehicle for the violation? No further questions.

Look I don't like tickets either, but you were speeding. I never understand why people bitch about getting a ticket whether or not it is written by a cop or a photo ticket. Sure it sucks. But you were speeding.
