I'm not a fan of the school fundraisers, either. Basically using free child labor to sell overpriced shite that nobody needs with a tiny amount being kept by the school. They are counting on the guilt factor of telling a kid no. Kid sells $200 worth of stuff for a prize worth $3.50. It's even worse when the high priced Catholic schools do this crap.

People drinking outside on a college campus telling us what's annoying.

Live and let live, man.

I'm not going to let a kid asking me a question ruin my day. Kid had some skittles to sell, asked and I said no thanks. That was the end of the inconvenience. He politely moved to the next RV.

racist.

if a white kid was selling chocolate bars for school, you'd buy one, or at least be ultra polite...and you know it.

Even if it is legit I don't care. The parents usually trailing behind. Why are they texting on their smartphone getting their kids to sell candy? Why aren't they working? If they truly want to help their kids team or whatever, get another job. Feel bad for the kid, but really it is the parents lazy asses using these kids. There has to be some law against this. Teens under 18 can't work more than 5 hours at a time. How are 10 yr olds allowed to be out in the sun all day peddling shite?

When I was at LSU I worked concessions during the spring as a 2nd job. A lot of sports teams, church groups, cub scouts, would run a stand to make money. But that would require a couple of parents to actually get in there and work. They don't want to because they are lazy trash.

People are allowed to drink out there. You're not allowed to sell anything on LSU's campus without them getting a cut or you paying a vendor fee. Even if its for charity, it still needs approval from the university. So yeah, it's annoying when a bunch of random kids roll through a tailgate and bother everyone with candy.

I bought something for a kids travel team once. Then, one of my good friends said they're fundraising to help cut into the travel costs of the families. They use the money to help pay for gas, hotels, beer, etc... Now, even when it's legit for a school requirement I don't do it.

This is a mindset I don't get. The parents CHOOSE to get them involved in something they can't afford then expect other people help them foot the travel bill for their baseball/basketball team?? F that. If you can't afford it, stay in rec league. 98% of them won't make it past travel ball anyway.

It would be better if they were selling beer.

I don't mind them at all. I just say 'we already have some' or 'no, but good luck.'

I'd much rather them than the incessant, rude, in-your-face sometimes menacing ticket hawkers on foot or on bikes that never fricking take no for an answer and never shut up and never stop.

And it's - "kids" selling candy, not "kid's".

I just tell them I don't carry cash with me and they leave.

I just tell them I don't want any of the shite they're selling.

Case closed.

One kid started dancing at our tailgate and made a lot more money off of his dance moves than his candy. He was doing back flips and everything. Then he asked us for a beer for his mom.
