Most Intimidating Moment?

From all accounts it was the beginning of the Alabama drive to win the game in 2012. National commentators were saying that was the loudest they have ever heard a stadium and they did not give Alabama a chance to drive the field and score a TD on that defense with that crowd on that night.

Unfortunately, the rest is history. Yes, I am still mad about it.

That was a cool moment. The most "intimidating" as in the opponent needing to fear for their physical well-being was Auburn 2001. The crowd came in the stadium pretty wound up because of the opportunity to go to Atlanta for the first time and to avenge the Cigar Game of '99. Everyone had cigars. Then Auburn stomps the eye in pregame. The LSU players, already in the locker room knew something was up from the violent roar of the crowd. After the onside kick and LSU TD, Michael Clayton nearly killed the AU returnman. The place was crazy, but under control until halftime when Damon Duvall came out on the field and started kicking the ball while the LSU band was playing. When the band marched past him and he started trying to fight them, that was the most intimidating moment in TS. It was close to people leaving the stands and coming onto the field. The whole second half, the place was a powder keg.

Should have been in 2012 when the entire crowd was chanting frick You Satan and STTDB. That probably goes down as one of the best atmospheres ever in Tiger Stadium had they won. It's still up there...they just should have finished them off.

1979 USC game, as a kid standing in my front yard many miles away, you could actually hear the roars..I remember being surprised.

I've often wondered, did Saban have this planned, or was this a response to the pregame antics?

I will chime in here since I have been to all but a handful of games since 1966. The LSU chant at the 03 Ga. game was a great moment. I consider the 07 Fla. game to be Tiger Stadium at its peak. But, for Tiger Stadium at its most intimidating, you have to go back to before the corporatization and wussification of the fan base. (To my fellow readers of The Rant, I am not talking about you.) When I think back about the loudest, wildest and most intimidating crowds that made the opponent feel as though they were in a hornets nest for 3 hours, the game that comes to mind is LSU 28 - Notre Dame 8 in 1971. We dominated the game, but no one left at halftime to beat the traffic that night.

Georgia 2003 when D.J. Shockley came in at QB.

That kid was scared out of his mind.

Auburn got a 15 yard penalty for all the antics I believe so the kickoff was from the 50 so it made sense to try it.

Barkevious Mingo chasing down LaMichael James of Oregon in the backfield in an epic top 5 Tiger Stadium matchup. At that moment, the crowd went nuts, Oregon knew they really weren't fast at all and they knew they'd never escape Death Valley alive.
