This chart is just stereotyping simple data. Lil Wayne is the only rapper I listen too, guy was in gifted classes through high school, very intelligent, has an impressive vernacular.

Are you serious? This is all about averaging. The point is to find the overall trend. This is the trend for average scores.
That being said, I listen to music well above my SAT score.

I have a friend who had a perfect score on the SAT. She listens to Maroon 5.

That may be true but the chart isn't compiling SAT scores for the artist.

Why the hell is U2 where it is? Is that because they have their music away to everyone smart enough to have an iPhone?

Assuming this is the (2/3) scores... Not sure how it works exactly (been a while), but I know that like and 1100 on this type could correlate to a 1600 out of the 2400 full score. Those are made up numbers, but sound pretty good to me... not gonna share my two hahaha

I seriously doubt anyone cares.

I listen to 80% of the people/groups listed ..Sooooo....Do I just combine them all and get my score??? OR do I have to average that shite out?

Ha! My SAT score was way higher than anything on that chart and I listened to the Used, Taking Back Sunday, classical, the eagles, techno, Muse, the Shins, Buster and Sufjan Stevens.
I must have broken the scale.

Help me here. I don't see any Four Tops, Buckinghams or Lou Rawls....Is it my computer?

that seems low. a 30 is like 98th percentile, eh?
When I took both in 2003, a 32 was roughly a 1420 out of 1600.

link,
Today I learned all OTers are wicked-smaat and in their infinite wisdom do not understand the concept of averages.

While anecdotal evidence does not disprove an average, this chart seems like complete horse shite because it discounts the fact that people listen to a wide array of music and their musical tastes change over time. It's all in fun, I get it, but so is bragging about your SAT score.

pectus,
i don't see widespread panic on that list. my suspicions are confirmed: the kind of people that take the SAT are ashamed to admit they're panic fans.

So I am not brain dead, right?

Man, I guess.
I see it as this: The scores posted are the core of the bell curve (80% of all scores) and this is where each band plots on the x-axis of the bell curve to a range of particular scores.

You would probably have to move farther left to find Boosie listeners. Right below Lil Wayne

Numbers aren't racist, they're factual. Kinda funny how that works. Like everything else, the numbers are there but its racist to mention them.

Lol. You are the exact audience statisticians and marketers hope for.
