The Dark Knight Rises. I won't give out any spoilers to ruin it for those who have yet to see it, but the ending definitely had me thinking "hmmmm, could this be some sort of spinoff? Prequel? Or just good ole fashioned homeage being paid from one director to another".

For those who have seen both, what do you think?

Spoilers......

how was he able to walk around in broad daylight at the end? Two hours of them showing him get firey sunburns then he is just walking around in daylight.

Don't bother. I will never see it.

I got a Highlander vibe from the ending.

The movie itself was Dracula meets Frank Miller's 300.

Agreed. Just explain the ending, I don't think most people here are going to see it. Just put a spoilers tag on the title

I think they were pretty obvious about setting up for a sequel. Which I wouldn't mind. Not that strong of a movie, but better than I thought it would be.

A sequel would give Tywinn Lanister much better screen time.

Supposedly, reboots of several classic monster movies (Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy, etc) are in the works, and this was the first one.

SPOILER BELOW:

What I didn't like was how it jumped from the middle ages to the present day. The ending should've lead up to where the novel began, with Jonathan Harker going to Transylvania.

Wait. Wat? How could Dracula be a prequel to Batman?

This.

And Universal is setting up a shared universe for its monsters...sort of like the MCU.

Universal is trying to create a cinematic universe for its "monster" properties, a la Marvel/Disney. The scene which is being discussed in this thread was apparently added in post-production so that this Dracula story-line could be shoe-horned into the "Monster Universe." (see story here).

The first part of the movie wasn't bad. The second half was terrible outside of Evans. It's a little better than a 29 on RT though
