Although evidently not nearly as much as most other presidents in the past 85 years:

That's because he is too busy blaming others.

Seems like I've seen plenty of hay made out of his overuse of the word as if he were some sort of outlier in the matter. Clearly, he uses it less than most. Probably time to move on to a new talking point.

Yea, I doubt Buzzfeed's reporting or research.

Saying "uhh" eight times between sentences tends to drive down the statistics.

It would be okay if he would just follow "I" up with "suck"

He also says uhhhh a lot more than necessary for a public figure of his nature.

Also, there's the issue of context where Obama says I, myself, and other similar identifying words in. The OBL speech was full of it.

He might use the royal we instead.

It wouldn't matter if he were first, last or anywhere in between on that list, he's a machine party hack who was as ready to be POTUS in 2009 as he was to be a Nuclear Physics professor at MIT.

I absolutely HATE when he attempts to be folksy by using the term "folks".

Is there really a massive difference between 4.65% and 2.45% in regard to a speech?

Uh, yes - it's nearly twice as much. Or perhaps you don't consider 100% to be a big difference.

It's not rocket science. The source material is there for you to examine yourself.

Seems as if you didn't read the article which described the methodology:

quote:

BuzzFeed News analyzed more than 2,000 presidential news conferences since 1929, looking for usage of first-person singular pronouns — “I,” “me,” “my,” “mine,” and “myself.

Do you have any other non-objections to submit or would it perhaps be easier to simply say "OK, objectively he says it less"?

I don't have time to examine 2000 speeches from 1926 to now.

That doesn't mean I have to accept what Buzzfeed feeds me.

I already have preconceived notions about Buzzfeed. I don't trust their research or reporting. They are an incredibly opinionated "news" source.

I don't ask you to trust blindly - you should never. But this is incredibly easy for Reddit/the internet/etc. to debunk. It seems reasonable to believe what has been presented.
