So is Vegas putting this game that close just because it's in Baton Rouge...its real hard for me to believe that LSU is only a 3 point dog in this game. Ole Miss is playing the best football I've ever seen them play. Even as a huge LSU fan its hard to believe this game will be that close.

They shoulda lost to the one strong running team they played "Bama" at their own house........ They can't run the ball "plus for LSU"..... We have a strong secondary very capable of picking Dr. Bro multiple times.

OleMiss not as great as advertised + LSU not as bad as advertised + TigerStadium = near toss-up game

No offense to OleMiss, they are a damn good team this year and may very well beat LSU, but they're not your typical 3rd-ranked team. And while some LSU fans might think we're one of the worst teams in football this year, LSU is easily one of the best 15-20 teams in the country....still working out some major kinks (mostly just youth at some key spots and a defense finding itself), but still very capable and not a team to be taken lightly.

As every expert in America predicted before the season started ..."get your licks on LSU in early because come November LSU is not going to be a team you want to face as all this talent has some experience under its belt."

Gamblers take (from gamblers on this board):

It's essentially a one possession game. We're getting 3.5 for home field advantage.

Perfectly reasonable considering the fact that it is a (holds nose) rivalry game of sorts.

How exactly should they have lost to bama?

This is a bad matchup for us. Their run d is elite

It's not always that simple.

Vegas also makes lines to where they know people will bet on them. Right now the public is going to be on Ole Miss -3, and will most likely drive the line up.

Historically these games have been close, and Vegas can make a killing on the public backing Ole Miss. Obviously that same philosophy can hurt them, but they are pretty knowledgable when it comes to making money.

I actually think this is a perfect matchup for us. They have trouble putting points on the board, which is exactly the type of team this particular LSU squad will have a chance against.

This defensive game will come down to turnovers, something LSU doesn't do much of.

There's a reason the lights burn 365 nights a year in Vegas.

On a more serious note, I was a bit surprised that the line opened with the Rebs being a 3 point favorite. I expected it to be at least 7.

Our strength (running) is against their strength (run D) is it not?

agree. Miles will think he can run the ball and have AJ10 hold on with any INT's and will think that will do the trick. The delusion continues until Ole Miss and Bama spank us hard. I hope I am wrong.

I think match up wise, OM and TAM, are LSU's best vs ARK and Bama, Obviously OM and Bama are the better teams. I'm just talking strengths and weaknesses in schemes and production so far.

In reality, LSU could go 0-4 or 4-0 at this point. It will probably be in between .

Yeah.. it took a punt return by odell in 2012 to win..then the 2013 disaster in oxford.

Freeze has stood toe to toe with two really talented lsu teams, when he had scrubs on the roster.

That being said, It's a rivalry game vs ole miss on Halloween week in death valley. I like our chances

So....run the ball and don't turn the ball over?...

The ironic thing is that you seem to be implying that this is a bad strategy. Every coach in football history would probably say these two things are the two most important keys to winning football games.

Our run blocking is not too bad either. Not that tigers win. But not too far fetched either

Vegas makes money because they in essence don't gamble. They do not rely on the public backing the loser. They make the line as appealing as possible from both sides and collect the juice.

Why is this so hard for folks to see. We are growing by leaps and bounds, especially on defense. They are getting really fun to watch

We grew by leaps & bounds against a bad UF team and a not very good UK team.

Let's see if we leap & bound against the Rebs Saturday night.
