The only prediction I'm comfortable making is that it'll be another 5 years before the book comes out.

Who knows what GRRM will decide to do with the series. At this points I feel like he just does things for shits and gigs

Too easy a death. And I still think the valonqar is going to be Jaime not Arya.

I really think that Martin is bored and tired of the series. I would be shocked if he ever completes it.

I've said before that if Jon isn't revealed to be Lyanna's and Rhaegar, that is 100% why.

I can't help but wonder if that is a large part of his apathy to complete it: he has seen theories too accurate for comfort. Hard to complete a carefully thought out epic if folks guessed your biggest twists.

If you carefully read the Tower of Joy sequence, I don't know how you could come to any other conclusion that the rightful King of the Seven Kingdoms is not up those stairs and that everyone present knows it.

Cersei will win her trial with Ser Robert Strong, but Margeary will lose her trial with the Faith

yea I definitely think Margeary dies. Giving us another reason to hate Cersei even more.

quote:

Cersei "convinces" the High Septon to keep her alive and in the crown's custody to pay for her sins, and the High Septon "agrees". Cersei then demands that Mace Tyrell leaves the city and attacks Storm's End to put this new usurper in his place. She also sends out a large amount of Lannister men to bring back Jaime and kill Brienne.

quote:

and Varys is able to sneak out all the prisoners and hostages that Cersei holds

I just don't think she'll ever have this type of power again.

Damn solid work!

I really think Arya's ending will be a sad one.
I think she ends up assassinating the wrong person for the right reason. Potentially, Sansa, Jon, Tyrion, or Daenerys

Varys will make sure of it. I feel sure that the High Septon works for Varys, and Varys wants Cersei in power and to be deranged in order for the whole realm to unite with Aegon. He specifically tells Kevan he's killing him and Pycelle in order to get Cersei back in power and the realm to unite around Aegon.

My thing with that though is Pate melted.

I didn't read it as Pate physically melted. I read it as that is what he felt like he was doing as he was poisoned and dying.

I predict you will be super pissed when the book endings don't turn out exactly like you think they should. A la episode threads last season.

Just don't drink too much while you are reading.

Unless Tyrion is Aerys son, or Jon Snow is not Rhaegar's, and anything else ridiculously anticlimactic, then I doubt it. I haven't read the book yet, unlike Season 4 of the show.

what if Alexander Skarsgard was cast for a role as Dario or whatever his name is that Dany hooked up with, but then she meets Jon Snow and falls in love with him! Gah, that's one hell of a triangle.
