There is a deep historical rift with Jews in European culture that goes back a couple of thousand years almost. It is my understanding that at one time it was considered impure to handle money by christians in Europe. Because of this thos jobs such as bankers and tax collecters fell to the Jews to do. This created contempt that stewed for hundreds of years. Jews in Europe were also very inclusive and protective of their culture. This made them seem secretive and worthy of suspicion.

Something along those lines I think. I'm not an authority on this, and I would recommend actually doing some reading if you are really interested.

Usery was considered a sin by the Catholic Church, so lending money with interest was illegal. Jews were not beholden to church laws, so they became the bankers. Everyone hates the person they owe money to and everyone hates the repo man.

Jews for over a thousand years AD were forbidden from owning property or joining craft guilds

Christians (for centuries) and Muslims (many to this day) considered money lending/usury to be a sin

Put them together and you got Jews being moneylenders (Merchant of Venice)

Trivia tidbit: the word "ghetto" is Italian for foundry. The Jews of Venice were restricted to the foundry area of the city.

Honest question - why do people who hate Jews hate them instead of Muslims?

I know that the Nazi outlook was that Jews were linked with internationalism. Whether it was international finance capitalism or Bolshevism, nationalist movements were opposed to both. They were viewed as alien minorities with immense power and influence over the political, economic, and social structures. The Muslims posed no threat to Germany or Europe in recent history until the modern day immigration influx, which is likewise opposed by nationalists and blamed on leftist political forces that advocate multiculturalism.

Hitler's conviction that Marxism and Jewry were inextricably linked was probably cemented in his experience in Bavaria during the revolution which brought about the Bavarian Soviet Republic, which was led by Jews.

Henry Ford published an anti-Semitic work titled The International Jew. You can probably research that if you are interested in the mindset of non-Muslim anti-Semites.
