Traffic backed up on Westbound Spillway bridge before Laplace due to a jumper

I drove through it, as police were looking yelling to a boat below. When I was coming back from Laplace just now traffic was even worse, and there are a ton of boats and cars around there.
No car went over a person just jumped in*. It's a little choppy.
*second hand info, but you could see the cops yelling to two civilian boaters who were looking around.
On way back it was like 10 cop cars and a few more at that boat launch right there.
Heads up if heading west.

which is why it is so odd.
If I were to guess..
1. Guy pulled over for speeding
2. Has felony warrants
3. decides it's a nice day for a swim
4. Jumps in the water to escape
5. Forgets he can't swim

it was a little choppy, and on the drive back there were still looking for something in the water. no damage to railing at all in that spot.

I know a girl that did it. She was fine as hell but nuts. Made her boyfriend pull over. He did. She got out and threatened to jump. He was sick of her drama and rolled his eyes. She jumped.
15 feet and was fine.
They had to get the fire department and all out there to get her.

The water is pretty shallow over there. I have no idea where the tide was at, but when it is out, you can see the mud

very shallow. The leaking dent in my flatboat happened hitting a submerged stump there. I had to get out to push the boat off and was only up to my waist.
I never found out any more about this.
