He had one drop against ATL in the opener and hasn't seen the field since. What the frick is up with that? So sick of seeing Meachem get a long ball attempt each game just to come up short. Payton should at least see what JoMo can do. That drop pass in ATL wasn't even a deep ball, which is his specialty.

Obviously I'm not suggesting that plugging him in the rotation won't turn the season around, but will it hurt to try?

He definitely deserves a shot, I just don't understand why he isn't getting that shot. The most baffling part if Meachem's snaps, and how he keeps getting them. The dude was cut initially, and Payton said after it wasn't the plan to cut him and bring him back, it just worked out that way with the numbers game that they were able to bring him back.

Brees can't throw it far enough for him to be useful in our offense.

I'm also confused with why Meachem gets every long ball opportunity when we have legit burners in Stills and Cooks.

But then again this goes with Brees' lack of arm strength that many still want to pretend isn't an issue.

And that being said, while his pass to Stills was beautiful, every NFL QB should be able to connect on a 45 yard pass. Not really taking anything away from him because it was nice, but this makes him what? 1/10?

Like I said yesterday, the pass to Stills was good but he was wide open and it was a rainbow toss. Arm strength doesn't just apply to deep balls either. It's every one that he tosses to a receiver in the middle who doesn't have time to react after the catch and gets clobbered (Colston won't be with us much longer). It's those same passes that are so easily intercepted because they take forever to get there.

Anyways, Morgan should get in there. Meach is dried up and not doing a thing.

Morgan could just run down the seam and would be a better decoy than meachem

Yeah most high school QB's have the arm strength to loft one 45 yards down the seam. It's the passes that have to travel an extra 20 yards towards the sidelines and split the CB/Safety that have been giving Brees problems (especially outdoors) for a couple of years now.

I don't care who you have under center, if the line plays like this you don't complete many passes over 45 yards. I find it funny how people point to the QB as the problem when the line is just flat out awful.

He was on inactive list yesterday.

Injury or doghouse?

I've been saying this all season... This organization is starting to become stupid again. I'm just glad we won a SB. Satisfying enough, but another Lombardi would be nice...

Seen enough of Meachem. He is the only one that we are sending deep and yes Brees has missed him a few times but the guy has lost all of his top end speed.

Notice how the only deep balls that have been caught this year have been to Stills. That tells you something about the confidence Brees has throwing to Stills deep. So there lies the question, why do we bother with Meachem? Give JoMo a damn shot already sheesh... If he plays like he did in 2012 then this team could be one of the better deep ball teams in the league.

It's no different than the people who want to make every possible excuse for Brees when it is obvious that his decision making is questionable and the velocity he gets on his passes are diminishing.

Great QBs get old. Just nature of the business.
