I recorded the game, had issues watching

I had a family event I had to go to today so I recorded the game. I got home to watch it and the whole recording was screwed up, I only got to watch about 20 plays. Oddly enough the commercials played just fine. Has anybody ever had a problem like this? Im wondering if somehow the NFL is behind this?
